<Title>BEYA STEM Career Fair &amp; Conference</Title>

    <div class="html-content">With the start of the spring semester, comes the stress and anxiety of what you're going to do after you graduate. "Real life" is fast approaching and there's a lot of pressure on students to find a job quickly and immediately after graduating. <div><br></div><div>Being proactive in your job search and applying to jobs now is the most practical way of taking control of your future. One of the best way to start the job search process is by attending a variety of career fairs.</div><div><br></div><div>These career fairs are specifically geared towards helping you find jobs with employers who are looking to hire. UMBC has it's Spring Career and Internship Fair coming up later this month, but there are also career fairs meant for students held off campus!</div><div><br></div><div>The BEYA Stem Conference is a career fair tailored towards those receiving degrees in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. For three days, the Conference brings together students and potential employers looking to hire. Graduate school admissions reps will also at the Conference. You are not required to attend all three days. </div><div><br></div><div><strong>The event is open to all students! </strong></div><div><br></div><div>It will take place on Saturday, February 11, from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. </div><div><br></div><div>The deadline to register for the conference is <strong>this Monday, February 6</strong>, at 5PM. <Title>Maryland Sea Grant Summer Research Internship</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>Are you looking for a summer research internship studying ocean, coastal or environmental science? I invite you to check out the Maryland Sea Grant Summer REU program. <Title>Interdisciplinary position with the National Aquarium</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>The Urban Conservation and Education Internship is a work-study program in partnership with the National Aquarium, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Living Classrooms Foundation and the Maryland Port Administration. This internship not only promotes career development and connects those interested to career opportunities within the conservation sector, but is also helps foster a sense of environmental stewardship.</div><div><br></div><div>Interns will learn about the importance of conservation throughout the Chesapeake Bay region by working with staff</div><div>from the National Aquarium, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Living Classrooms Foundation and the Maryland Port</div><div>Administration. Over the course of the program, interns will participate in habitat restoration projects, assist in the</div><div>monitoring of wildlife populations and engage diverse audiences in hands-on environmental education programs. </div><div><br></div><div>This eight-week internship will take place from June 5 to July 28, 2017. Typical work days are Monday through Friday, but some Saturdays may be required.</div><div><br></div><div>The internship is based out of the Masonville Cove campus, but work sites will not always be on campus. Transportation is provided from Masonville Cove to work sites in the greater Baltimore region.</div><div><br></div><div>This is an interdisciplinary program.     Career Communications Group will be held <strong>February
    9-11, 2017</strong> as part of this large annual conference, representatives from
    several major corporations and universities will be on hand to meet with
    students pursuing careers in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and
    Math) fields as well as Business, Finance, and Marketing.  Why you should attend:</p>

     U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency &amp; 
    Renewable Energy (EERE) Robotics Internship Program sponsors a 10-week 
    summer internship program for students majoring in
     computer science, engineering, mathematics and statistics, physics and 
    other physical sciences disciplines.  The program provides opportunities
     for recent high school graduates, undergraduates, graduates and 
    postgraduates, to intern
    </span><span>at federal national laboratories and private sector organizations throughout the United States</span><span>. 
     This program is a partnership between
     the public and private sectors to continue the development of the 
    future robotics technical, engineering, and advanced manufacturing 
    workforce.</span><strong></strong>
    </p><p><strong><span>Undergraduate students receive a $600 per week stipend
    </span></strong></p><p><strong><span>Graduate students receive $750 per week stipend

    <div class="html-content">We need you -- a compassionate STEM major who is excited to teach math 
    to elementary and middle school students in Baltimore by working in a 
    small group setting each week.  The students at Lakeland 
    Elementary/Middle will benefit from your support when you teach the same
     3-5 students during the daily intervention block between 1-3pm.  The 
    school is located ten minutes from the UMBC campus, and carpooling can 
    be arranged.  Based on the needs of students, you will work with 
    school-based staff to design thoughtful math experiences that develop 
    basic skills and engage students in rigorous math problems!  <br>

            Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer (NCET2) announces a University and
            College Entrepreneurs Congressional Internship Program. The
            Program aims to educate and cultivate student leaders in policy
            issues that impact entrepreneurs and startups. The Program also
            seeks to build the student’s professional networks in the
            startup and policy communities in Washington D.C., in Silicon
            Valley, and at their home university and communities.</span></p><p><span><strong>APPLICATION DETAILS CAN BE

          <span><strong>DEADLINE 1/30</strong></span></p><p><span>University and college students
            will be placed in the offices of members of Congress – in the
            Senate and in the House of Representatives – with a high level
            of involvement in startups, tech transfer and/or
            entrepreneurship, at the pleasure of the office. Before
            beginning at Congress, interns admitted into the Program will
            also participate in a one-week Silicon Valley immersion to
            experience startup culture from entrepreneurs, angel investors,
            venture capitalists, startup companies and corporations in the
            valley.</span></p><p><span><strong>Eligibility</strong><br>
            Students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or
            graduate degree program and have at least one year remaining in
            their degree program after completion of the internship. This
            program is purposely designed to appeal to, and will benefit
            from, students in all fields, backgrounds, interests and
            disciplines, who have the ability to be outstanding leaders for
            entrepreneurship and startup culture in public, private or
            academic settings. International students enrolled in American
            universities and colleges are welcome to apply, but need to be
            proficient to a high degree in written and spoken English and
            meet specific Congressional ethics rules that pertain to
            international student interns.</span></p><p><br></p></div>

                                    REU program allows talented students
                                    completing their Sophomore or Junior
                                    year the opportunity to spend summer
                                    break working alongside USC’s
                                    world-class faculty on cutting-edge
                                    research in engineering and computer
                                    science. Participants will gain valuable
                                    research experience and receive a
                                    stipend for living expenses in Los
                                    Angeles. Housing and transportation will
                                    also be provided. <br>

                                  Interested students
