ANCS Council Meeting and Symposium: Modern Gods
Our first council meeting of the semester!
Wednesday, September 26, 2018 · 5:30 - 7 PM
On the evening of Wednesday, September 26, 2018, the Ancient Studies Council will be holding our very first meeting of the semester.
Everyone is invited to this meeting, where we will discuss upcoming events for the term as well as hear any comments or suggestions from our members. We expect the meeting itself to be short. Our goal is to ensure open communication between us and our members. We're excited about this semester, and if there are any thoughts or ides you have that can make our semester better, we'd love to hear them!
Immediately following the meeting, we will be hosting our first Symposium: Modern Gods. This will be a relaxed and informal student-led discussion on the topic of modern representations of ancient gods and divine archetypes. Snacks will be served!
We encourage everyone to bring their own thoughts and experiences on the topic: the more specific, the better! While certainly not required, if you have an idea of particular personal interest, feel free to prepare a short presentation (no more than two or three minutes). You can take this as seriously as you want to, but remember that our goal is to have a fun discussion about these ancient ideas. Did we mention the snacks? There will be snacks.
