Reminder- Adding New Suppliers
Procurement has rolled out a new form to enter suppliers.
In an effort to reduce returned supplier forms the following has changed: - The correct up to date government form (W8-BEN, W8-BEN-E, or W9) is pre-loaded and suppliers no longer need to source their own forms.
- Mandatory fields on the government forms so that the necessary fields are no longer skipped by the supplier.
- Instructions for the supplier on how to fill out the form.
Make sure you are only adding suppliers though the link in Paw. The link can be found under the section "Quick Links" on the homepage of Paw.

Rosetta comes to us from Baltimore County Government, where she served as the Chief of Procurement and Logistics Services. She is very familiar with Procurement policies and procedures with federal and state regulations as she has an extensive background in education and government procurement.
Rose is excited to be a part of the procurement team and eager to contribute her expertise to UMBC.

On Monday, November 15,
2021, all users will transition to the new Paw Procurement user interface. This new interface will update the user
experience for shopping, requisitions, orders, and invoices.

Amazon Update
Colleagues,
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we have worked to resolve the Amazon delivery issues faced by our campus community.
After multiple telephone calls, voice mails, and emails to various people, we have successfully managed to engage senior leadership in Amazon's Business Operations regarding our delivery issues. We held a WebEx meeting with them on 10/14/21 that included 7 individuals at Amazon. They apologized profusely and are dedicating resources at both the national and regional level to resolve this situation as quickly as possible.
We emphasized the urgency of this matter along with our interest in partnering with them on a solution. Amazon is actively working on approaches which we are hopeful will resolve the delivery issues and meet UMBC's needs. We will be monitoring their efforts closely and expect to have a further update soon.
We are fully aware that the temporary suspension of Amazon is a challenge for our campus community. We also recognize that it was a major factor in getting the attention of their senior leadership. If you need any assistance to find items from other suppliers, please reach out to us.

Amazon
As you may be
aware, the campus is experiencing substantial issues with Amazon
deliveries. Hundreds of packages are
being dropped at single locations regardless of the delivery addresses. Our communications with Amazon have been
ongoing for some time but the situation remains unresolved.
Due to this,
we are temporarily suspending Amazon as a supplier in the Paw system until this matter is resolved. With this action, effective immediately, new
orders cannot be placed with Amazon. Any Amazon orders currently in progress
will not be affected and the
associated receipt/approval processes remain in place.
This action is
the best and most timely option available to stem the current strain on campus
resources to re-deliver packages to the appropriate offices and students. This temporary measure will be in effect
while we utilize every available avenue to resolve the situation with Amazon as
quickly as possible.
In the interim, we encourage users to order standard business items from RGH or
Rudolph. These office supply companies
are Maryland-based Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Firms under contract with
UMBC. The use of these firms will have
the added benefit of supporting the University’s commitment to a more diverse
supply chain.
