The second of this new American choral music from the Washington
National Cathedral features the popular composer (and UMBC Professor)
Stephen Caracciolo, whose works have been performed and broadcast by
many groups nationwide, including Cantus.
This is also the first recording of an elite new choral ensemble,
Cathedra, based at the Washington National Cathedral and directed by
Michael McCarthy.
From the composer’s website: Cathedra, under the direction of Michael McCarthy, has a new release on the GOTHIC label of choral works by composer Stephen Caracciolo. A fine project beautifully produced by Malcolm Bruno, the sessions were recorded by the professional choir at Washington National Cathedral.
Several of the tracks are premiere commercial recordings. McCarthy has
sculpted elegant, lyric lines, bringing the sound and meaning of each
text to the forefront of the expression.

Due to the campus closure on March 6, the UMBC Bookstore Graduation Center will be extended through Wednesday, March 13 (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) Graduating students may order regalia, diploma frames, steins, and announcements by March 13 and avoid paying a late fee. Rings may be ordered during the make-up day (11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 13). The 10% discount on diploma frames ordered in the store has also been extended.
Students may also place their orders online. Note that late fee forgiveness may not apply online after a certain time.

PLACING YOUR ORDER
You may place your order through campus mail, fax (410) 455-8629, internet at http://bookstore.umbc.edu (click on Faculty Adoptions) or e-mail textbook@umbc.edu. The adoption form is also attached to message for your convenience. Please, no adoptions by phone. Provide complete course information including section number(s) and complete book information including ISBN. Desk copy requests should be sent directly to the publisher. If you will not be using a textbook for your course, please submit an adoption stating “No Textbook Required.”
TEXTBOOK POSTING REQUIREMENTS
Board of Regents policy requires all textbook information to be posted online (via the Bookstore’s website) by December 1 for the Spring semester. Therefore, the University has instituted a deadline for Spring adoptions of November 24. However, we strongly advise that adoptions be submitted by October 19th to ensure sufficient processing time, to allow for substitutions when necessary and to secure used books from national wholesalers when they are most heavily stocked. [Faculty hired after this deadline should place their textbook adoption as
soon as possible.]
USED BOOKS
With the rising cost of textbooks, we begin to procure used books as soon as we receive your adoption. The Bookstore prides itself on the high volume of used text we provide our students. We order from eight national used book wholesalers, in addition to securing used books from our students during buyback. In order to pay students top dollar, we need to have your adoptions prior to buyback in December.
CUSTOM BUNDLED MATERIALS
On your adoption, please specify if you desire items bundled, along with the ISBN and the name and number of the publisher representative with whom you have worked in creating the package. Bear in mind that order fulfillment is slower and that bundled items have value only if all items are required. Otherwise, it may be beneficial to have them available for optional
purchase. Additionally, if software or other supplemental material is available for your text, please specify if it is required. [Please note that Board of Regents policy (adopted 2/13/09) states that “Faculty should order textbook bundles only if the supplements included with textbooks are necessary to the curriculum and instruction.”]
