<Title>Opportunity: AMST Research Assistant Position</Title>

    <div><span>Research Assistant Tasks include:</span></div>
    <div><span><ul>
    <li><p><span>Printing and photocopying articles and book excerpts</span></p></li>
    <li><p><span>Transcribing highlighted sections of sources</span></p></li>
    <li><p><span>Picking up books from the library</span></p></li>
    <li><p><span>Organizing and managing all sources in an Excel spreadsheet, Zotero, and physical folder box </span></p></li>
    <li><p><span>Finding academic and popular media articles for subjects of interest </span></p></li>
    </ul>
    <div><span>The project is on contemporary social forms of reading and readership (think, book clubs) and race. You don't need any expertise in the area of research, just good research and organizational skills.</span></div>
    <div><span><br></span></div>
    <div>Pay would be $15 an hour.</div>
    <div><span>1-2  hours of work on the project per week; but the RA can set their own schedule.</span></div>
    <div><span>The position would start in Fall 2023 and hopefully the RA could commit to one full academic year. </span></div>

Students will also be introduced to global/transnational concerns, studies of masculinities, the body and sexuality studies.</div></div>

    <div><p><span>NSF is providing information on the </span><a title="NSF CAREER program" href="https://beta.nsf.gov/funding/opportunities/faculty-early-career-development-program-career" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) program solicitation NSF 22-586</a><span> at webinars on Monday, May 15, and Thursday, May 25, 2023, starting at 3:00 PM Eastern time each day. </span></p></div>

    <p>The NSF-wide CAREER program supports early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization. Activities pursued by early-career faculty should build a firm foundation for a lifetime of leadership in integrating education and research.</p>
    <p>Both webinars will include the same briefing on the CAREER program and key solicitation requirements followed by a question and answer session. (Faculty who are interested need to attend only one.) </p>

<Title>Announcing Search: Affiliate Artist in Classical Guitar</Title>

    <div>The UMBC Department of Music is seeking an affiliate artist position in classical guitar to begin Fall 2023. Bachelor’s required and advanced degrees or equivalent professional experience preferred.  Evidence of successful teaching at the University level preferred.  The position will include teaching of guitar majors and non-majors, possible performances with RUCKUS, the faculty new music ensemble, and other opportunities based on expertise.</div>
