The Baltimore City Teaching Residency is looking for you! They recruit candidates without a background in education to become an effective teacher for the students who need them most. 

Baltimore City students need and deserve creative teachers to share the wonders of Biology or Chemistry. And those students with additional learning needs could benefit greatly from the fresh-thinking and experience your school has already provided.

Baltimore City Teaching Residency trains accomplished professionals and recent college graduates to become exceptional, certified teachers for the Baltimore students who need them most.  We have a high need for Science and Special Education teachers for the coming school year.

Teachers in Biology and Chemistry are needed to show Baltimore students the hows and whys of the world they live in. Only twelve credit hours in Biology or Chemistry (or related coursework) are needed to qualify.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR TEACHING SCIENCE

Most enrollees who enter into the Special Education program have little to no prior background in Special Education. As a Baltimore Special Education Resident you would be dual certified, which makes you a valuable prospect for hiring Principals and doubles your future teaching options.

Special Education Residents benefit from a range of choices in classroom settings. Most BCTR Residents teach students with mild-to-moderate disabilities. In fact, students are learning the same content as their grade-level peers in a general education setting. You may work with a co-teacher, have a small group of students, or a combination of these settings.

To cap off this semester's informative and intriguing EHS seminar presentations and discussions, tomorrow's final seminar is being led by our own EHS Professor Diane Flint, who will be talking about public policy vs public administration, and how they affect EMS and health care at large.

ASB consists of several student-run, week-long, service-learning trips, which provide an opportunity for students to learn about and address social issues by working with community partners, policy makers, and government representatives in the Baltimore area. This year’s trips focus on:

• Public Health

• Health Education

• Food Access & Food Insecurity

• Economic Disparity

Each trip is led by a Trip Leader and all trips will take place in Baltimore to better connect students to the city and introduce them to opportunities for long-term community engagement beyond ASB.

 U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) is currently accepting applications for its 2018 AFRL Repperger Research Internship Program. This civilian research opportunity is a 10-week summer program intended for MS/PhD candidates pursuing degrees in STEM. Each year the laboratory will appointment a couple exceptional undergraduate students into the program.  There are 36 posted opportunities, once the application January 21, 2018 deadline passes, each application will be reviewed and AFRL will fund 15 participants for the summer period.  Check out the opportunity catalog to review all of the available opportunities, there are available research opportunities in nearly every STEM field! Please apply to no more than (3) Repperger opportunities and only apply to opportunities in your applicable educational background.
