    <span>The new Co-Editors of </span><a href="https://www.tandfonline.com/toc/hcil20/current" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>Critical
     Inquiry in Language Studies (CILS) Journal</span></a><span> to invite you a conversation with the editors for dialogue and exchange (on Zoom/Youtube Livestream).</span>  Please see the event poster attached.
    <p> </p>
    <p><span>The webinar will open with a short talk by Editorial Board member, <strong>Dr. Ryuko Kubota</strong>, University of British Columbia, Canada, about the contributions of the journal to the broad field of <strong>critical applied linguistics.</strong></span> </p>
    <p><span>Dr. 
    Kubota is a Professor in the Department of Language and Literacy 
    Education at University of British Columbia, where she teaches applied 
    linguistics and teacher education. Her research </span><span>draws
     on critical approaches to language education, focusing on race, gender,
     culture, and language ideologies. She is the Media Review Editor and a 
    member of the Editorial Advisory Board of <em>Critical Inquiry in Language Studies. </em>She
     has also served as the
     President (2012-2014) and the Executive Officer for Special Programs 
    (2014-present) of the International Society for Language Studies (ISLS).</span> </p>
    <p><span>Following the talk, the Co-Editors will discuss the aims and scope of the journal as well as tips and suggestions for authors.  </span></p>
    
    <p><span>Considering the international 
    scope of the journal, we welcome participants from all contexts and 
    global locations (some time zones for the webinar are listed below). </span> </p>
