Management Advisory Service (MAS) is very pleased to announce the launching of Online Ethics Training!
This new online training opportunity is available for you and/or your staff, upon request. Ethical standards in the workplace are important to the success of every employee, their respective department, and UMBC.
If you are interested in this new training for your department, please contact David Sohns in MAS at dsohns@umbc.edu to make the arrangements.
This training further contributes to providing a strong foundation for the ethical culture at UMBC. The training consists of a total of 5 modules that can be completed at one’s own pace with a short quiz at the end.

Hiring a research assistant in the Baltimore region or elsewhere;
Purchasing necessary software or hardware upgrades;
Purchasing research materials (e.g., books, photocopies, materials provided by archives, transcription services or interview devices);

A brief narrative statement (300 words max) describing your research, its humanities and social justice (if appropriate) focus, and its significance, your revised or re-adapted research goals, and how you will use the funding
A short, summary budget

Mrs. Smith worked during payroll 2017001.
Mrs. Smith is paid from four different funding sources.
The business manager realized that two of the funding sources are incorrect, but not until the week of Payroll 2017009.Recommendation:
During Payroll 2017009, one RETRO can be entered to fix the first incorrect funding source.
During Payroll 2017010, another RETRO can be entered to fix the second incorrect funding source.The RETROs must be done in separate Payrolls, because the system will reshuffle the employee’s E-N-T-I-R-E distribution for Payroll 2017001 when trying to calculate the RETRO. It cannot reshuffle more than once for 2017001 in this situation.
