Participants in STRiVE 2019 will hone leadership and social change skills, build community, and have a lot of fun. STRiVE's many activities will keep you engaged, and you'll emerge feeling confident, inspired, and connected. Well over 99% of past STRiVE participants have said they'd recommend it to a friend.
STRiVE 2019 will take place from January 7-11, 2019 at Skycroft Retreat Center in Middletown, MD. You'll just need to get to UMBC, where you'll board a bus to take you to the retreat site. The bus will return you to UMBC at the conclusion of the retreat.
A team of 13 UMBC staff members and students will serve as facilitators for the retreat. STRiVE is especially helpful for first- and second-year students (who will have the greatest opportunity to apply its lessons on campus,) but the retreat is open to all UMBC undergraduates on the Catonsville campus.
To participate, you must be available to attend the entire retreat. Each participant pays a $100, non-refundable contribution toward the retreat's cost (but if you cannot afford to make this contribution, you can apply for financial assistance. We do not want the $100 contribution to prevent anyone from attending).
This application is due at 11:59 pm on Sunday, November 4th.
By submitting this application, you are authorizing the Center for Democracy and Civic Life to check your UMBC records to confirm there are no disciplinary or other issues that would preclude you from participating in this program.
