<Title>COEIT Celebration! In Person!</Title>
<Tagline>Sunday, May 1st  2:00 PM! ALL COEIT Welcome!</Tagline>

    <div>Please join us for the 2022 COEIT Celebration! It will be held in person at the RAC on Sunday, May 1st from 2:00 -4:00. <br>
    </div>

    <div>There will be food, fun, prizes, games, and a raffle.<br>
    </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>The Awards Ceremony for graduating seniors will begin at 2:00 on the RAC floor. <br>
    </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>At approximately 2:30 the celebration events will begin on the track level. Clubs and Organizations will be showcasing their accomplishments and many will be hosting games or activities. <br>
    </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>There will be a raffle for participating students. <br>
    </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>The celebration will end at 4:00.<br>
    </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>We are excited to celebrate together all we have accomplished after a challenging few years. We hope to see you there!</div>

<Title>Summer Research and Mentoring Program for Engineering Majors</Title>

    <div><br></div>
    <div>The NSF Research Experience and Mentoring (REM) Program is a unique combined summer opportunity. Participants will spend:</div>
    <br>Six weeks on a cutting-edge research project on energy while being guided by a graduate student mentor and a faculty mentor. <br><br>Four weeks mentoring kids as part of a NSBE SEEK camp.<br><br><div>While working on their research project students will regularly interact with corporate partners in the energy sector (ie. interactive industry sessions, tours and informal mentoring. Additionally, participants will be paid to present at Emerging Researchers National (ERN) Conference in STEM, Washington, D.C. <br>
    </div>

    <div>PROGRAM DETAILS : <br>Program dates: May 23-July 1, 2022 at Purdue University <br><br>Total stipend of $5,000 for 6 weeks at CISTAR ($4,000 for completing the 6 weeks and $1,000 after submitting program deliverables). <br><br>Travel and housing provided <br>

    <br><p><span><strong>Registration has begun for undergraduate students. Initial registration dates will continue through April 22nd. </strong><br></span></p>
    <p><span>All students must meet with an advisor in order to obtain
    registration clearance. <strong>Registration clearance is required to register for Fall courses. </strong></span><span> </span></p>
    <p><span>Pre-Majors and all first semester transfer students should schedule an advising appointment with a COEIT advisor <a href="https://calendly.com/coeit" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">here</a>. <br></span></p>
    <p><span>All students who have passed their gateway, are not first semester transfer students, and have been updated to the full major will be advised by faculty in the department.     <div><br></div>
    <div>Withdrawn courses count as attempts but do not impact your GPA.</div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>If withdrawing from one or more courses will bring you to less than full time status (12 credits) there may be impacts in other areas such as <a href="https://scholarships.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">scholarship</a>, <a href="https://financialaid.umbc.edu/contact/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">financial aid</a>, and <a href="https://reslife.umbc.edu/rlexperience/procedures/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">on-campus housing</a>. Questions about those areas should be directed to the appropriate office.</div>

    <div>Students can withdraw from the entire semester though the last day of classes, May 17th. Full semester withdrawals can have serious impacts on other areas and should always be discussed with an advisor. <br>

Participants will spend:<br><br>Six weeks on a cutting-edge research project on energy while being guided by a graduate student mentor and a faculty mentor. <br><br>Four weeks mentoring kids as part of a NSBE SEEK camp.<br><br><div>While working on their research project students will regularly interact with corporate partners in the energy sector (ie. interactive industry sessions, tours and informal mentoring. Additionally, participants will be paid to present at Emerging Researchers National (ERN) Conference in STEM, Washington, D.C. <br>

    <p><strong><span>Fall 2022 Registration - Advising
    Appointment Information for Current Students:</span></strong></p>
    <p><span>The Fall 2022 schedule was posted today. Initial registration times for undergraduate students will start on April 5th for students with 120 or greater credits and continue through April 22nd for all currently enrolled undergraduate degree seeking students.  <br></span><strong></strong></p>
    
    <p><span>All students must meet with an advisor in order to obtain
    registration clearance. <strong>Registration clearance is required to register for Fall courses. </strong></span><span> </span></p>
    <p><span>Pre-Majors and all first semester transfer students should schedule an advising appointment with a COEIT advisor <a href="https://calendly.com/coeit" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">here</a>. <br></span></p>
    <p><span>All students who have passed their gateway, are not first semester transfer students, and have been updated to the full major will be advised by faculty in the department. More information about advising for students who are full majors can found <a href="https://advising.coeit.umbc.edu/registration_gateway/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">here</a>. <br></span></p>
    <p><span>Information Systems and Business Technology Administration
    majors (or students intending to change to one of these majors) are advised in

    <p><span>If you are changing your major to a major outside the
    College of Engineering and Information Technology, please contact the respective

    major</span></a><span> for advising appointment instructions. Please remember to
    complete a </span><a href="https://registrar.umbc.edu/forms/records-updaterequest-forms/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>Declaration
    of Major form</span></a><span> for your new major. <br></span></p>
    <p><span><strong>Summer 2022 Session </strong><br></span></p>
    
    <p><span><a href="https://summer.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Summer session</a> registration began March 1st.
    Students do not need to meet with an advisor prior to registering for summer
    courses unless they have questions or concerns. If you intend to take a course
    off-campus during the summer, a </span><a href="https://registrar.umbc.edu/forms/transfer-request-forms/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>Verification
    of  Transferability Form</span></a><span>is required in advance of taking
    the summer course.</span></p>
