    Appointment Information for Current Students: <br></span></strong></p>
    <p><strong><span>Registration Clearance is required to Register for Fall courses!<br></span></strong></p>
    <p><span>Pre-Majors and all first semester transfer students should schedule an advising appointment with a COEIT advisor <a href="https://calendly.com/coeit" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">here</a>.  <br></span></p>
    <p><span>All students who have passed their gateway, are not first semester transfer students, and have been updated to the full major will be advised by faculty in the department. More information about advising for students who are full majors can found <a href="https://advising.coeit.umbc.edu/registration_gateway/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">here</a>. <br></span></p>
    <p><span><strong>Faculty advisors may wait until the schedule of classes is posted on March 28th. </strong></span><span> </span></p>

    Students do not need to meet with an advisor prior to registering for summer
    courses unless they have questions or concerns. If you intend to take a course
    off-campus during the summer, a </span><a href="https://registrar.umbc.edu/forms/transfer-request-forms/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>Verification
    of  Transferability Form</span></a><span> is required in advance of taking
    the summer course.</span></p>

    </span></span><p>The GPS Program is a unique opportunity for 25
    high-achieving college students to get the inside scoop from executives from
    globally minded, leading companies in the region.<span>  </span>Past participants include: Lockheed Martin,
    Stanley Black &amp; Decker, Jhpiego, T. Rowe Price, Ciena, Under Armour,
    McCormick, PeaceCorps, and the U.S. State Department, and more.<span>  </span>Participation in this program provides
    students with the opportunity to meet various C-suite professionals and HR executives
    and build their professional knowledge, skills, and network.<span>  </span></p>

    <p><span><strong>Applicants:</strong> Students
    must be undergraduate degree-seeking in the areas of engineering or computer
    sciences and be able to articulate a career interest related to the AOC
    professional mission in the fields of military communications, electronic
    warfare, electromagnetic spectrum management operations, cyber electromagnetic
    activities, and/or information operations. For example, a future career on a
    team that: develops systems that protect pilots from enemy anti-aircraft
    weapons and ground troops and civilians from IEDs or develops tools and
    programs to counter enemy cyber-attacks.</span></p>

    <div>In order to confirm that your major has been updated please log onto MyUMBC. Select "Profile" on the heading and then check to see the major listed under your name.  <br>
    </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>The listed major should be CENG, CMPE, CMSC, or MENG. If the first letter is a P (as in PMEE) your major has not been updated. <br>

<Title>Spring Semester Reminders</Title>

    <p>I hope everyone has had a great start to the Spring
    semester. A few Advising reminders:</p>

    </span></span></span>Waitlists will deactivate Monday, February 7<sup>th</sup>.
    Drop/ Add continues through Friday, February 11<sup>th</sup>, but no one will
    be auto-enrolled after waitlists are deactivated. Students can search for and
    enroll in open sections next week. </p></blockquote>

    </span></span></span>The schedule for <a href="https://summer.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">UMBC's Summer Session</a> is now available.
    <span> </span>Registration will begin for all students
    on March 1<sup>st</sup>. </p>
    
    <p><span><span>·<span>        
    </span></span></span>The deadline to apply for<a href="https://registrar.umbc.edu/preparing-for-graduation/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"> Spring graduation</a> is
    Tuesday, February 15<sup>th</sup>. Congratulations to students in their final
    semester at UMBC!</p>

    graduate)</span></p>

    part-time, internships and graduate admissions</span></p>

    sponsored by Career Communications Group (CCG) and is part of their large
    annual conference. Representatives from several major corporations and
    universities will be available to meet virtually with students pursuing careers
    in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields as well as
    Business, Finance, and Marketing. Why should you participate?</span></p>

    15-30 minutes for registrations to be activated and to gain access to the

    </span></span></span><span>The Career Fair on <strong>Friday</strong> and <strong>Saturday</strong> is <strong>free</strong>! To participate in the <strong>Career
    Fair only</strong>, register as a “<strong>Job Seeker</strong>”.</span></p>

    </span></span></span><span>The fee for attending the full conference is only
