     will monitor email messages 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. 
    Questions and requests will be routed to the appropriate staff member

    <h3>Advising Appointments</h3>
    <h6>GENERAL INFORMATION</h6>
    <ul><li>Advisors will be available electronically via email, WebEx, and Google Hangouts Meet (chat and video). Students may <a href="https://advising.coeit.umbc.edu/contact/meeting-with-an-advisor-2/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">contact </a>any
     advisor via email with questions. Students who would like to request a 
    virtual appointment, whether for registration clearance or other 
    reasons, may use the<a href="https://calendly.com/coeit" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"> appointment </a>website.</li></ul>
    <h6>SUMMER REGISTRATION</h6>
    <ul><li>Summer registration does not require 
    advising clearance and is already available to students. However, 
    advisors are happy to discuss your plans for summer classes as well as 
    any related questions. Please be sure to contact an advisor if you plan 
    to take a course off-campus at another institution.</li></ul>
    <h6>FALL REGISTRATION CLEARANCE</h6>
    <ul>
    <li>All advising clearances for fall semester will 
    require an appointment. Pre-Computer Science and Pre-Engineering 
    (Chemical, Computer, Mechanical) majors should continue to set up 
    appointments via the <a href="https://calendly.com/coeit" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">appointment </a>website. You will have the choice of options for communicating with an advisor.
    <ul>
    <li>If you select an email appointment an advisor 
    will email you by your appointment date/ time. You MUST respond to that 
    email to receive advising clearance.</li>
    <li>If you select a Google Chat/Meetup an advisor will contact you during the appointment time to review relevant information.</li>
    </ul>
    </li>
    <li>All engineering and computer science students who have passed their 
    gateway, except first semester transfer students, should contact their 
    faculty advisor for advising clearance. Please contact a COEIT Advisor 
    by email if you need assistance connecting with your faculty advisor.</li>
    <li>Information Systems and Business Technology Administration majors should contact their faculty advisor for advising clearance.</li>

    <p><strong><span>Advising Appointment Information for
    Current Students:</span></strong></p>
    
    <p><span>All
    students must meet with an advisor in order to obtain registration clearance
    for the upcoming spring semester. </span></p>
    
    <p><span>Engineering
    (chemical, computer, mechanical) and Computer Science majors and Pre-majors,
    please visit the </span><a href="https://advising.coeit.umbc.edu/registration/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>COEIT Advising website</span></a><span> for appointment instructions. </span></p>
    
    <p><span>Information
    Systems and Business Technology Administration majors (or students intending to
    change to one of these majors) are advised in the Information Systems
    Department. Please go </span><a href="https://advising.coeit.umbc.edu/undergraduate-information-systems-majors/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>here</span></a><span> for more information.</span></p>
    
    <p><span>If
    you are changing your major to a major outside the College of Engineering and
    Information Technology, please contact the respective department of your </span><a href="https://advising.umbc.edu/academic-advising/student-resources/departmental-advising/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>new major</span></a><span> for advising appointment

    Session registration opens March 2nd. Students do not need to meet with an
    advisor prior to registering for summer courses unless they have questions or
    concerns. If the course requires permission, please contact an advisor. If you

    <h5>About the Scholarship</h5>
    <p>The Association of Old Crows (AOC) 
    Educational Foundation (AEF) will be providing two scholarships to  
    students currently in their sophomore or junior year of college.  </p>
    <p>THE AOC STEM STUDENT OF THE YEAR:  Each 
    $12,500 scholarship will be awarded in May 2020 to one male and one 
    female student studying in the fields of engineering or engineering 
    technology and interested in working in the Aerospace and Defense 
    Industry. These scholarships are funded by a generous $25,000 donation 
    from Raytheon Company.</p>
    <h5>About the AOC Educational Foundation</h5>
    <p>The scholarship program is administered by the AOC Educational Foundation, a 501(c)3 education foundation. </p> 
    <h5>Eligibility</h5>
    <ul>
    <li>Applicant must be a US citizen</li>
    <li>Applicants must be registered as a full-time student in 
    sophomore or junior year of matriculated undergraduate engineering or 
    engineering technology study at time of application submission in an 
    accredited<strong><span> college/university.</span></strong>
    </li>
    <li>Academic excellence in study relating to signals collection, 
    signals processing, cyber technologies (offensive/defensive), electronic
     transmission &amp; receipt of signals, spectrum visualization, and 
    similar fields of study with interest and/or potential contribution to 
    the Department of Defense (DoD, Aerospace and Defense Industry, or other
     Government Agencies is preferred . </li>
    <li>Applicant must have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher. </li>
    <li>Interest and potential future contribution to national defense. (Based on the student essay)</li>
    </ul>

    <li>Academic excellence in engineering or engineering technology area of study. </li>

    <h5>Selection</h5>
    <p>Students are selected by an independent 
    organization not affiliated with the AOC or the AEF. The selected 
    student names, degree program, expected graduation year, essay and 
    nominations (if any) will be presented to the AEF Scholarship Committee 
    for routine confirmation of the selection process. No financial 
    information is requested.</p>
     
    <h5>Deadline and Award Notice</h5>
    <ul>
    <li>Fully completed applications and accompanying paperwork must be received <strong>NO LATER THAN March 31, 2020</strong>
    </li>
    <li>Scholarship awardees will be selected and announced NO LATER THAN April 2020</li>
    <li>Scholarship funds will be awarded through the selected students 
    educational institution in the student’s name for tuition for the Fall 
    Semester 2020.  For students attending educational institutions that 
    cannot accept funds limited to tuition expenses, scholarship funds will 
    be awarded to the institution to be applied to financial support of 
    other programs authorized by the educational institution including loan 
    programs, military clothing/equipment issue expenses, etc accrued during
     a student’s tenure.</li>

<Title>Returning Women Students Scholarship 2020-2021 Application</Title>

    <h5><em><span>The Women's Center is excited to announce that the </span><a href="https://umbc.box.com/v/RWSapplication" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>Returning Women Students Scholarships Application</span></a><span> for 2020-21 is now available. </span></em></h5>
    <h5>
    <em>T</em><em>he deadline for submission is the end of the business day on Monday, April 6th.</em>
    </h5>
    <h5><em><br></em></h5>
    <h5>
    <span>This
     common application enables eligible students to apply for more than one
     of the Returning Women Students Scholarships using the same 
    application. The four available scholarships are:</span><br><ul>
    <li><span>Charlotte W. Newcombe Scholarship &amp; The UMBC Scholarship for Mature Students </span></li>
    <li><span>Jodi Mister/Charlotte W. Newcombe Scholarship</span></li>
    <li><span>AEGON Scholarship</span></li>
    <li><span>The Richard &amp; Roselyn Bryson Neville Memorial Fund for Returning Women Scholarship</span></li>
    <li><span>The Rosalie Tydings Business and Professional Women’s Scholarship</span></li>
    </ul>
    </h5>

    <em><span>All undergraduate students over the age of 25 and with at least 60 credits may be eligible. You must be completing your </span><u><span>first </span></u><span>undergraduate degree. </span></em><em><span>Each scholarship has additional eligibility requirements which can be found on the common application instructions. </span></em>

    document button below). Please be sure to read over the eligibility 
    requirements before applying. </span></h5>

    their consideration for a scholarship. We highly encourage all 
    applicants to attend an info session before submitting their 
    application.The info session on 2/19 also includes an extended 
    presentation focused on crafting personal statements. If you cannot
