It's that time of week again. Come by SHER 011 from 6-7 PM tonight for a space to be creative, write any sort of thing, and wind down. 

I have not received enough sleep, but that often helps my writing process. Not, however, for this announcement.

Tonight, October 30th, in preparation for Halloween, we will be writing the stories which scare the bones out of us. If you show up and write, you can leave with a book of short stories (Enter Boogeyman, ed. Alessandro Manzetti), lots of Halloween candy, and there will be candy to share so you'll leave with full bellies and pre-cavity teeth (which ought to inspire some horror itself). 

Come around TONIGHT, SHER011 from 6-7 PM, and scare the bejeebies out of the club!

Midterms were going crazy and I was forgetting to post these updates, sorry y'all T_T

Thankfully there is only one exam left for now and my footfalls again resound to prove that I am, indeed, alive.

Tomorrow‘s meeting shall be held at Sherman Building‘s Room 011 from 6 to 7 o’clock in the evening. Once again, the meeting is at SHERM011 6-7pm.

We have our regular meeting tonight from 6-7PM, and this time we will be in Fine Arts 301 (this is hopefully where we will be the rest of this semester!). Bring whatever you choose to write with, those manuscripts or a blank page, and let ideas bounce around in your brain!

Mark your calendars, it looks like things are finally getting sorted out and that this will be our regular meeting time and location. I'm very excited that the kinks are being ironed out. If things somewhy change, we'll be sure to update you.

As October approaches, we're getting excited to announce a few events, so keep a lookout here and on the Instagram and Discord!

Tonight (9/11) is going to be the first official meeting of the Creative Writing Club! Join us in Flat Tuesdays in the Commons (to the right of the information desk) from 6-7 pm.

Bring something to write or type with, and we hope to see you there!

Due to the room reservation system's delayed opening, we will be again in Flat Tuesday's today. Future meetings we will have a reserved room (all going to plan) and we'll let you know where that is hopefully this weekend!

If you can't make it, we will post the prompt at the start of the meeting and y'all can respond to it at your leisure.

WE WILL BE "MEETING" TODAY, 9/4 FROM 6-7 PM, unofficially, in Flat Tuesdays (the room to the right of the information desk at the Commons). Some of us will be there getting to know each other and having a little free-write time, getting to know what you are looking for in the club, and sharing some projects or ideas.

• Regular meetings will be held Wednesdays 6-7, location TBD (we will let you know ASAP!), and will be writing time and prompt responses for the first half or so, then sharing and discussing our pieces.
• We will do monthly workshopping in-person meetings, times and locations are still being figured out. We also have a workshop channel in the Discord to post pieces and to discuss with others what critiques, skill building, etc.
• Our Discord is currently our main platform of communication, where we discuss writing, post prompts, responses, works of our own, and more
• Our Instagram is being revitalized and will be updated with this semester's prompts, events, projects, and more
• And finally, our stories that you all wrote one sentence at a time are below! We had run out of space on the first one, so we had to begin anew on a second, also posted below

This is just a friendly reminder that we will be having our weekly meeting this Thursday from 6-7pm in ITE 241 and we hope to see you there!

As always, we will have a virtual option open to you to allow for differing modes of participation. & a big thank you to all who were able to help out with the creative writing workshop this past Friday!

I apologize for the late notice but we have a great volunteer / collaboration opportunity coming up this Friday! 

The Creative Writing Club has been asked to help facilitate a creative writing workshop along with faculty from the English Department for prospective students to UMBC from local high schools.

The workshop will take place from 11-11:40am this upcoming Friday in PAHB 318 and we are planning on focusing on the development of dialogue in writing. 

If you would like to participate in this workshop or have any questions at all, please reach out to us ASAP. I hope to see you there!
