First Club Meeting in the New Room!!! Happy Friday Everyone! Hey everyone, just a fast reminder that we're meeting today (no more Thursdays) in Performing Arts and Humanities Building 123 (PAHB 123) at noon! We'll be doing a prompt as usual, but also giving some insight on some club mechanics like making prompts and potential workshopping. Speaking of prompts though, here's today's prompt just a bit early in case you want time to think of a story!

Coming from Eunice today, a prompt that's specific and clear in what it asks for, but not often focused on in the writing media. 

"Invent a new bloodsport. What is it and how is it played"?

How would this new outlet of entertainment fit into a world (fictional or not), and how would it affect it? How is it viewed by the populace perhaps? You could almost turn this into a world-building type of prompt if you really wanted to, so let your imagination soar in-context and we'll see you in a couple of hours!

On Discord, if anyone wants to post stories to be workshopped, put them in either the "workshop corner" or "dark workshop corner" depending on their content.  This is separate from prompt responses and are entirely up to writers to do on their own time.

If you haven't already heard, the Creative Writing Club is holding a writing competition wherein you respond to one of eight different prompts noted below! The competition has been extended to the end of the month on October 31st, so definitely let the season inspire as you think on how to respond. Responses do need to be at least 250 words, but are generally unrestricted beyond that. Submissions can be directed to either our discord's submission channel or sent to umbc.cwc@gmail.com!
