<Title>DEFD Volunteering Carpooling! **Saturday 2/20**</Title>

    <p>Thank you all for your interest in volunteering for the Discover Engineering Family Day (DEFD) in the National Building Museum in DC! We will be offering a carpool service for this event. We will be carpooling to the nearest Metro Station and from there, we will be taking the Metro to the National Building Museum. Please dress comfortably and bring your SmartTrip card/money for your own fares, you are responsible for your own fares.</p>
    <p>The availability of the carpool is on a fi<span>rst-come first-serve basis, so please sign-up! If you can drive, please help us out!</span></p>

    <p>Please fill it out by 11:59 pm Wed (2/17) if you are interested in the carpool option! The itinerary details will be emailed out on Thursday (2/18).</p>
    <p>We will be volunteering from 11am-3pm, so please indicate that when you register!</p>
    <p>Thank you again for volunteering! You will get 2 SWEet points for your membership if you attend!</p>

    <div>UMBC's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is offering a 10-week summer research program in chemical sensing and imaging on campus!</div>

    <div><em>**<strong>Students will receive a stipend $5,000 for the ten-week period as well as on-campus housing. </strong></em></div>

    <div><strong><u>Students will: </u></strong></div>
    <div><ul>
    <li>Be able to attend professional training workshops</li>
    <li>Obtain research experience in leading UMBC laboratories</li>
    </ul></div>

    <div>The National Science Foundation (NSF) is funding Kansas State University for their 10-week summer research program in chemical engineering. </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div><em>**<strong>Students will receive a stipend $5,000 for the ten-week period as well as $2,500 for food and housing.</strong></em></div>
    <div><strong><em><br></em></strong></div>
    <div><em>**Students will also receive travel expenses if needed to attend conferences when presenting their research</em></div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div><strong><u>Students will: </u></strong></div>
    <div><ul>
    <li>Receive faculty mentors from the fields of chemical engineering, electrical engineering, geology, and chemistry</li>
    <li>Attend weekly research seminars and give reports on their projects</li>
    <li>Present their findings on the last day at a final poster session</li>
    <li>Attend a sustainability seminar on sustainable energy, its production and impact</li>
    <li>Participate in a group outreach project related to sustainability</li>
    <li>Have field trips and social activities relevant to sustainable energy</li>

<Title>CenUSA Internship Program</Title>
<Tagline>Bioenergy Research Internship at Iowa State University</Tagline>

    <div class="html-content">Undergraduates studying agronomy, agricultureal sciences or engineering related fields are encouraged to check out this REU. The CenUSA Bioenergy Research Internship Experience for Undergraduates provides interdisciplinary training for students in bioenergy fields. 13 students are chosen to participate in one of the following areas:<div><ul>
    <li><span>Feedstock Development</span></li>
    <li><span>Field-Level Sustainability</span></li>
    <li><span>Logistics</span></li>
    <li><span>Policy-Level Sustainability</span></li>
    <li><span>Feedstock Conversion Economics</span></li>
    <li><span>Markets and Distribution</span></li>
    <li><span>Health and Safety</span></li>
    <li><span>Commercialization</span></li>
    </ul></div>
    <div>Undergraduates will gain vital skills in computer modeling, field methods, and/or experimental design by doing independent projects. </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>Students will receive a stipend of $450/week for the 10 week program ($4,500), as well as having housing provided on-campus and a travel allowance.</div>

    <div>The program runs from June 1 - August 6 and the deadline for the program is <strong>March 1</strong>. </div>

    <div class="html-content">The Purdue Polytechnic Institute Computer Graphics Technology Department invites students from all majors with an interest in visualization to apply to this REU. The program is looking for students with interests in visualization from technical and non-technical backgrounds. Students will be assigned to an REU consisting of a research collaborator, visualization mentor, and an REU student. The program offers hands-on interdisciplinary research in visualization while also gaining skills in networking, writing, and presentations.<div>
    <br><div>"Research areas of this site include (but is not limited to): </div>
    <div>
    <strong>Computer 
    science, genetics and biochemistry, geophysics, sociology, molecular 
    modeling and simulation, inorganic chemistry, social media, parks
