    Compete for monetary prizes while presenting your research at a prestigious scientific meeting. Attendees will also receive a free lunch, annual meeting registration, and student membership in the AACR. 
    
    All participants can enjoy:
    * A panel discussion led by young scientific investigators ranging from graduate students to post-docs, who will address issues related to scientific research and career development;
    
    * A keynote address from a prominent cancer researcher, who will inspire students to consider a career in cancer research;
    
    * A competitive poster session that will award first, second, and third place prizes for outstanding student research; and

    COMPENSATION: This is an unpaid internship. Work study/school credit is encouraged.
    
    Intern Description:
    
    The summer-long internship in the  MICA Communications Department provides an opportunity for candidates interested in a career in arts and/or higher education communications to receive a complete overview of the workings of a busy media relations office. Interns will have the opportunity to interact cross-departmentally on diverse projects at one of the country’s premiere colleges of art and design.
    The communications intern will work with the department to facilitate outreach and communications efforts, such as media relations, social networking and Web writing. This position will report to the manager of communications and is part-time.

    Instead of bringing the companies to campus, we're taking you to the company!
    
    The FBI 's mission is to protect and defend the United States against terrorist and foreign intelligence threats, to uphold and enforce the criminal laws of the United States, and to provide leadership and criminal justice services to federal, state, municipal, and international agencies and partners.
    
    Join your Career Services and Shriver Center staff members on FRIDAY, APRIL 30th as they take you out to visit the FBI.  Learn about the following units:  Violent Crimes, Counter Intelligence, Public Corruption/White Collar Crimes, and Cyber Terrorism. 
    
    Transportation is provided, but an RSVP is required. You will receive confirmation of your registration prior to the trip date. Space is limited, so register early!  Vans will leave The Shriver Center at 8:30 a.m. sharp.

    Seeking full-time UMBC undergraduate student with junior or senior standing; willingness to learn; ability to articulate thoughts and ideas; good customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.  Should enjoy working with people. A detail-oriented, creative, critical thinker is a plus. Familiarity with MS Office is desired. Limited weekend and evening hours and a valid drivers license are required. All majors are welcome to apply. 
    
    Position Title : Undergraduate Admissions Fellow
    Description : The undergraduate admissions fellow will work closely with prospective and admitted students, parents and the campus community in person and by telephone in a fast-paced office environment. Responsibilities include: welcome and assist daily visitors; provide information on the application process and deadlines; conduct presentations to small and large groups; participate in recruitment and yield events, college fairs, orientation programs, and chat sessions; research and office projects; involvement with communications and marketing initiatives; completion of an office project; and other duties as assigned. The commitment for this internship is a full academic year; Fall 2010 and Spring 2011, including full-time during winter break.
    
    Schedule : Part-time
    Hours per wk : 12-15/week (full-time during winter break)
    $300/month stipend during fall and spring semesters; hourly pay over winter break
