Apply to the UMBC Cyber Scholars Program by 14 February

Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Information Systems majors with at least a 3.25 GPA and an interest in cybersecurity are encouraged to apply for 2014-15 cohort of the UMBC Cyber Scholars Program.

The Cyber Scholars Program is a merit-based scholarship program for talented undergraduates majoring in computer science, information systems of computer engineering who are interested in pursuing a career within the field of cybersecurity. Cyber Scholars are supported financially and incorporated into a scholarship community, unique courses, mentoring, and the chance to take part in cybersecurity research and internships during in their academic careers.

Apply by 14 February 2014 by submitting a application along with two letters of recommendation and an official college transcript.

The iSchool Inclusion Institute (i3) is an undergraduate research program that prepares students from underrepresented populations for graduate study and careers in the information sciences. Students undertake a year-long experience that includes two summer institutes held at the University of Pittsburgh and a year-long team research project. Students are immersed in special-topics workshops, professional development seminars, research projects, and network-building opportunities.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is pleased to announce our 2014 Summer Intern Program.  This is a 12-week internship program for current students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.  The purpose of the Summer Intern Program is to enhance students' knowledge about CMS programs, mission, vision and goals.  Additionally, the program seeks to familiarize participants about Federal, State, and local health care programs serving under-served and uninsured populations.  

Recruitment for the 2014 Summer Internship Program will take place through vacancy announcements posted on www.USAJobs.gov.  The announcements may be found by using a keyword search of “CMS Intern” in the “Keyword” section of the USAJobs website.  A full description of the program, qualification, and application requirements will be found in the vacancy announcements, so please read carefully.  Students must submit a complete application online through the appropriate vacancy announcement(s) for consideration by the closing date.  The anticipated open period for applications has been amended to January 30, 2014 – February 5, 2014.
