The Bureau of Economics of the Federal Trade Commission is hiring interns for Summer 2023. We are looking for advanced undergraduate economics students who are interested in exploring graduate school (such as those considering a pre-doc for the fall of 2024) or economic policy jobs after graduation. We are especially interested in students with substantive experience analyzing data in Stata, R, or Python, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

The intern would work with some of our 80 PhD economists to support economic analysis in support of antitrust and consumer protection investigations and/or applied microeconomics research projects. (While the position title says that this is for an “office automation” role, the job would involve the tasks described above and that are in the job description.)

The Economic Analysis Group in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice is soliciting applications for full-time economic research analyst positions in Washington, DC starting in the Spring 2023.

 

The Economic Analysis Group is looking for detail-oriented highly motivated individuals interested in economics.

A bachelor’s degree with a grade point average of 3.0 or better is required, and you must be a U.S. citizen. Experience in working with spreadsheets, statistics, computer programming, and econometrics is useful. Course work in statistics, econometrics, calculus, computer science, and linear algebra is also useful.
