CFA Society Baltimore (CFASB) is an affiliate of CFA Institute, which has over 165,000 members globally. The Baltimore Society has 840+ members, drawing from a diverse cross-section of local investment firms, financial and educational institutions, and government agencies. Participation and membership in the CFASB is open to all professionals in the financial services community who are dedicated to a high standard of professional excellence and who will follow the CFA Institute's professional code of ethics. Members are welcome, but not required, to pursue the CFA designation. The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter is an investment credential that, for more than 60 years, has been the global standard for embodying the integrity, dedication, and advanced skills needed to build a stronger, more accountable financial industry. No credential is as widely respected for its focus on current investment expertise and performing in the client’s best interest. None is harder to obtain.

Students at Hampstead Hill Academy will have the incredible opportunity each week in March to learn from finance professionals like Simba Chirara, an investment analyst at WK Kellogg Foundation and a member of CFA Society Baltimore. He recently shared insights on how entrepreneurs start businesses using the example of a Party Time Pizza Shop and explained how companies transition from private to public. This series is part of an exciting partnership between CFA Society Baltimore, Hampstead Hill Academy, and Stocks in the Future, bringing expert guest teachers to the classroom all month long!

Last Friday, CFA Societies Baltimore and Washington DC gathered to hold our local Research Challenge Finals, and WOW.... we were blown away! All the teams were extremely impressive, and it was abundantly clear how much time and effort were put in by each team! Congratulations to all the teams on an exceptional job, and a special thank you to all the volunteers: Faculty Advisors, Industry Mentors, Graders, and Judges.
