Participants will present their ideas to the jury and fellow graduate students in UMBC. </p><p>This event will highlight your creative skills and the uniqueness of your idea, which can be social, environmental, IT technology, medical field related, etc. These ideas can be real or hypothetical. You create a three-minute presentation showcasing your idea and how unique it is. All the participants are eligible for UMBC prizes.</p><p><span><strong>PowerPoint</strong></span><strong> </strong><span><strong>Roulette</strong></span><strong> </strong><span>is a fun event that tests your ability to think on-the-spot and speak publicly! During this competition, you will present a PowerPoint on a random topic you are not prepared for, with slides you have never seen.</span></p></div>

    <div class="html-content"><em><span>Are you a student looking for assistive technology?</span><br><br><span>Are you a faculty member who received a letter of accommodation and wants to learn more?</span><br><br><span>Are you a student curious about assistive technology?</span></em><br><br><span> </span><br><span>This series is open to all students, staff, and faculty interested in learning more about the intersection of accommodations and technology.  We will be demonstrating low tech, and other assistive technology, demonstration captioning options and document remediation </span><br><span> </span><br><br><span><strong>All sessions will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in Math Psychology 222</strong></span><br><span> </span><br><br><span><strong>Session 1.   February 22nd, 12:00-1:00 </strong>  This session will focus on an introduction to assistive technology available to all students, staff, and faculty</span><br><span> </span><br><br><span><strong>Session 2.     <div class="html-content"><h4><em>The Women's Center's Returning Adult Learners Scholarships Application for 2023-24 is available now via <a href="https://umbc.academicworks.com/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Scholarship Retriever</a> to undergraduate students who meet the eligibility requirements. </em></h4><div><em><br></em></div><h4><em>T</em><em>he deadline for submission via </em><em><a href="https://umbc.academicworks.com/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Scholarship Retriever</a> </em><em>is Friday, April 8, 2023. </em></h4><h5><em><br></em></h5><h5>This common application which is called <em>Women's Center: Returning Adult Learners 2023-2024</em> in <a href="https://umbc.academicworks.com/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Scholarship Retriever </a>enables eligible students to apply for more than one of the Returning Adult Learner Scholarships with just one submission. Please note that <em>this opportunity to apply will only appear in Scholarship Retriever to students who meet the scholarship qualifications</em>. The six available scholarships via the Returning Adult Learner Scholarship Application are:</h5><h5><ul><li><span>Charlotte W. Newcombe Scholarship &amp; The UMBC Scholarship for Returning Adult Learners</span></li><li><span>Jodi Mister/Charlotte W. Newcombe Scholarship</span></li><li><span>Charlotte W. Newcombe STEM Scholarship</span></li><li><span>AEGON Scholarship</span></li><li><span>The Richard &amp; Roselyn Bryson Neville Memorial Fund for Returning Women Scholarship</span></li><li><span>The Rosalie Tydings Business and Professional Women’s Scholarship</span></li></ul><div><span><br></span></div></h5><h5><em>Undergraduate students of any gender over the age of 25 and with at least 60 credits and 2.5 GPA may be eligible.      UMBC Department of Education Research Seminar series continues with a 
    presentation by Keisha McIntosh Allen, Corey Carter, and Jackie Peng.</span></span></span> 
     They will discuss a study that systematically investigates the 
    framework of learning teaching as an interpretive process (LTIP) 
    advanced by <span><span>Etta Ruth Hollins</span></span>
    
     and its impact on the learning outcomes of teacher candidates who are 
    Sherman Program scholars at UMBC. The study uses naturalistic, 
    constructivist qualitative inquiry methods, which assume that meaning 
    can be made based on observations in natural rather than controlled
