Congratulations to Mrs. Graham!!

<Tagline>Teacher of the Month at Drew Freeman Middle School</Tagline>

The Department of Education would like to congratulate Mrs. Brittney Graham for being named Teacher of the Month for the month of September at her school.

Mrs. Graham is a 7th grade science teacher at Drew Freeman Middle school and is currently taking classes within our program on top of teaching full time. We would like to recognize her for all her hard work, dedication and success in the classroom.

A few words from Brittany:

Thank you all so much.

Well I am Brittany Crowder at UMBC, but my students call me by my married name Mrs. Graham. This is my 3rd year teaching science at Drew Freeman, but my 5th year over all as a science teacher. I was voted teacher of the month for September.

I like to start off by saying thank you to all those that have had a hand in my evolution as a teacher over the past year. At Drew Freeman there have been so many changes, added on to being short staffed of tenured teachers for the 7th grade, so I decided to step up an be the Lead teacher for my co-taught team. Although we are a cotaught team. I spent my first month teaching without a co teacher. I was Leading a team of core content teachers and manning my own classroom of 24-28 students per class.

Although my health has presented some recent issues, I still push and go above and beyond the standard duties of just simply teaching. My Goal every year is to imprint on students. Leaving such a strong impact that it will change the mindset of student and forever improve their lives. I am forever encouraging my students and empowering them to do great and be great. My motto is and will always be this: I am a science teacher, but I do not just teach science. I teach skills and discipline mechanisms through the avenue of science education.

If there is anymore you would like to know please feel free to email me any specific questions.

With Much Gratitude,

Mrs. Graham
