The Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) assigned new and returning students our updated Sexual Misconduct/ Title IX/ OEI training through SafeColleges.


Trigger Warning: If you have been personally affected by sexual or interpersonal violence and are concerned that you may not be able to complete the training in this format as a result of this experience, please contact Mikhel Kushner - Title IX Coordinator.

If you are experiencing sexual violence or discrimination or are being impacted by past experiences with them, you can report using OEI’sonline reporting form, you can also find information aboutRights and Resources here. 


The training must be completed by October 31, 2020: A registration hold may be placed on the student's account if they fail to complete the training.


Before beginning the training students are encouraged to review UMBC’s Policy on Sexual Misconduct, Sexual Harassment and Gender Discrimination, (updated August 14, 2020), as well as the Discrimination and Equal Opportunity Policy, which outline UMBC’s expectations of conduct towards members of the UMBC Community.



Questions about the policies and procedures related to sexual assault, domestic/ dating violence, sexual harassment, or stalking, should be directed to Title IX Coordinator Mikhel Kushner at Kushner@umbc.edu. If you have any questions or concerns about the policies and procedures related to discrimination and bias, please contact OEI at oei@umbc.edu.

If anyone told you that you would watch a grown man cover half his face with a mask or bandanna before entering a bank or other establishment and you did not dial 911, you would not have believed it. You probably would have never imagined participating in drive-by birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers, or graduation celebrations. You also never thought about becoming best friends with your mail carrier, the UPS person, the FedEx driver, your Instacart shopper, or the Amazon delivery person after doing the bulk of your shopping online. Such is life in this era of COVID-19. Such are our new normals!"

Cold weather is coming, and the Albin O. Kuhn Library & Gallery's popular curbside pickup service for books and equipment is moving indoors! 

Beginning November 1, Library staff will be happy to serve you at the main entrance to the Library building. During advertised curbside hours, the left-side front exterior door will be unlocked. Just look for the "curbside" signs, call us at 410-455-2354 when you arrive, and you will find your requested materials on a table inside the vestibule. Grab your stuff and away you go!

The Library & Gallery, including the Atrium and Retriever Learning Center, remain closed to users for the fall semester for the safety of our staff and users.

Instructions for placing requests can be found on our Curbside Pick-up Service page: https://library.umbc.edu/curbside-pickup.php. You will receive an email when your item is available (excludes A/V equipment from the Digital Media Lab), at which time you may use our online calendar to schedule your pick-up appointment.
