Attention Grabber: Minority Innovation Weekend (MIW) is almost here! Take this opportunity to learn more about the entrepreneurial mindset in a unique weekend conference! It’s FREE!!!!
MIW 2020 is a tech startup and innovation conference dedicated to aiding
innovators of color to launch tech-focused startups and explore emerging
technologies.MIW 2020 is FREE to all college students.
MIW 2020 will be an online conference that will occur on Saturday October
3, 2020 and Sunday October 4, 2020. MIW 2020 plans to have the
following conference tracks.
Startup Fundamentals (SF) - Covers many of the steps required to take a
tech-focused idea or concept and launch a successful company.
Cybersecurity (CY) - Discusses the most prevalent cybersecurity challenges
and encourage track attendees to launch tech-focused startups to address
these challenges.
Health Innovation (HI) - Brings individuals and organizations from various
fields interested in discussing and developing tech-focused solutions to
resolve health challenges.
Environmental Innovation (EI) - Assemble the best minds in environmental
science and Environmental Technology (envirotech) together of insightful
presentations and discussions on developing solutions to
address environmental challenges.

Please read the information below for further information about the PNC Scholars/Fellows Program Scholarship.
PNC SCHOLARS/FELLOWS PROGRAM
The PNC Scholars/Fellows Program provides awards up to $2,000 to outstanding UMBC students interested in becoming an entrepreneur. The scholarship will be awarded for the 2019 - 2020 academic year. The awards will be used as academic scholarships (up to $1,000), or as “seed funding” (up to $2,000) to launch new ventures or community based social entrepreneurship projects.
CRITERIA:
Submit a 1-2 page of a personal statement about their interest in entrepreneurship. The statement should:
Describe the impact an academic scholarship will have on their future as an entrepreneur or social innovator or
Describe how the award money will be used as “seed funding” to launch a new venture, or “seed funding” to launch a community based social entrepreneurship project. Submit a preliminary budget outlining anticipated expenses.
Submit an updated resume
Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
