The team at the Alex. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ABCEI) is excited to host our first event of the semester TOMORROW evening, September 14th from 5-6pm in University Center 310. This event will feature Sir George Zambellas, who has years of experience as a respected Naval Officer and successful entrepreneur.
He holds the Distinguished Service Cross and the title Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath, both awarded by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Sir George will reflect on the lessons of his journey and present his views on leadership in his presentation titled, The First and Only Lesson in Entrepreneurship.
After the event, a networking session with light refreshments will be held. Students, faculty, alumni, and members of the business community are welcome to attend! We look forward to seeing you there!

STANLEY+ Tecchstarts Accelerator is looking for students or early stage founders interested in volunteering to help with Demo Day on May 25th from 4pm - 7pm downtown at the Reginald F Lewis Museum.
Volunteers will help direct traffic / give out badges...etc.
Techstars will provide volunteers with the ability to:
· view the museum exhibits (we will be at the Lewis Museum)
· watch Demo Day pitches
· free t-shirt
· Uber pass to get to / from
· food/drinks

CBIC Finale Results
Thursday, April 30th
The results are in! On Thursday, April 30th, the Alex. Brown Center hosted the CBIC Finale at Betamore. After an evening of heavy hors d'oeuvre, and six competitive pitches, the panel of judges took on the difficult task of ranking each pitch from first to third place in our Technology & Innovation and Social Impact tracks. First place received $3,000, Second place received $2,000, and Third place received $1,000 to put towards their ideas. Each team is eligible to apply for an additional $2,000 in six months if they are still pursuing their idea. Now, for what you’ve been waiting for- the results!
Technology & Innovation Track:
First Place- Haven Cloud, Faheel Kamran & Mahmoud Shalby
Second Place- Crypto Briefcase, Noah Masri & Talon Schroeder

Social Impact Track:

Innovation Works IW + MC Boost Summer 2022 Application
Deadline: Tuesday, May 31st
The Boost program is a joint entrepreneurial development workshop between IW and Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship. The 4-day program is designed to help leaders of established Baltimore-based organizations (nonprofit, for-profit, and hybrid social enterprises) learn business fundamentals, improve their strategic thinking, and articulate a business plan that demonstrates social impact, a path to growth, and long-term financial sustainability. Come join us for an Entrepreneurship Discussion Panel Today, from 12- 1pm - Library 7th floor. UMBC Alums Mustafa Al-Adhami ‘20, Ron Callender ‘13, and Deep Patel ‘19 will be there to discuss their entrepreneurial journey upon graduating UMBC. Come join us for this one of a kind experience, and the chance to ask any questions you may have about the entrepreneurial world!
