In collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, we are offering an opportunity for student entrepreneurs—EntrepreneurShop on Main. 

This fall we will be providing a monthly opportunity for students to showcase and/or sell their goods or services in the Commons for FREE!  You can also use the space to survey students about your idea or get feedback.

Want to be a Vendor? Got a product, business idea, or creative project to share? Sign-up for a FREE pop-up table to showcase, test, and sell your work!

Applications are due tomorrow for UMBC's Launchpad Accelerator!

The UMBC Launchpad accelerator is a 10-week cohort-based program where ventures prepare to go from pre-launch to launch, or for early-stage companies, create a pathway to accelerate growth.

Founders who are ready to fully commit to launching their venture and validate their idea as an opportunity should apply. Participants are awarded up to $8,000 in non-dilutive funding for seed capital, and mentors will be assigned to each team.

Teams will perform deep customer discovery, develop a business model canvas, and then progress to a full commercialization plan and pitch deck. The goals of the Launchpad are to validate product-market fit and to hopefully formalize the venture and launch.

Elgibility

Current undergraduate and graduate students, including Spring 2026 graduates, are eligible to apply.

TIMELINE
Applications are due Tuesday, May 5th
Accepted teams will be notified by May 15th
Program runs from May 28th-July 30th
Demo day will be hosted in September

We are looking for three new SEAs to join our team next school year!  

SEAs (Student Entreprneurship Ambassadors) serve as the student voice of the Alex. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ABCEI) and are advocates for entrepreneurship programs across campus.

SEAs help increase the awareness of the ABCEI by promoting events through social media and connecting with students in class, events and other programs.  If you care about entrepreneurship and UMBC, this is a great way to get involved!

Responsibilities

• Commit 6-10 hours per month to assist with entrepreneurship events or extracurricular activities each semester.
• Attend ABCEI events and help out!
• Connect students to entrepreneurial opportunities at ABCEI by presenting program information in various classes across campus, tabling at events, and delivering presentations in their own classes about the ABCEI.
• Share about ABCEI on social media platforms.
• Promote the ENTR minor to fellow students and be available to answer questions and discuss how it can fit into students’ studies.

• Each Ambassador will receive an ABCEI swag bag with clothing, handouts, and more to wear to events.

The SEA Program runs from September until the end of April. Students will be paid at the end of each semester. To be eligible to apply, students must be enrolled in the Entrepreneurship Minor. Students from all majors and class years are invited to apply!

It's time for our Annual CBIC Event today, Thursday, April 16th from 5:30-8:30 pm! 

Are you interested in networking with other students and entrepreneurs?  Join us at 5:30 pm before the competition begins at 6:30 pm for appetizers and networking!  Attendees will have the opportunity to meet alumni entrepreneurs, students, and community members interested in entrepreneurship.

Students submitted their business plans and the judges have decided on the finalists!  Come hear them present their ideas, hear the judges' decisions, and see who wins up to $4,000 seed funding to launch their ventures!

Come support these students as they take this step towards starting a business or social impact venture!
