The University System of Maryland is conducting a survey to understand current attitudes toward and opinions of public higher education in Maryland and how it is perceived to impact the state. Because you are a student at a USM institution, we would value your participation. Please consider taking a few minutes to share your opinions by taking the survey.

Here is what’s happening over the next few days:

🥞 TOMORROW: Grad Retriever Breakfast

Kick off the week with us at the Sportszone!

• When: Wednesday, May 13 | 10AM - 12PM

• Fuel up for your study sessions with a free breakfast. Come say hi and grab a bite before you head to the library!

🧩 ALL WEEK: Daily Drop-In Reset Space

Need a 5-minute break or a quiet place to hide from your notes? The OGSL Office is your sanctuary from May 13–19.

• Flexibility is key: Stay for 5 minutes or an hour.

• Activities: Puzzles, coloring, brain teasers, and peace and quiet.

⚓ SATURDAY: Grad Day Out at Fort McHenry

Don't forget to sign up for our featured experience this Saturday, May 16!

• Includes: Transportation and lunch.

• The Goal: Get off campus, see the harbor, and recharge with friends.

We wanted to let you know that OGSL has run out of coffee cups for the time being. We are working on getting a restock delivered as soon as possible, but in the meantime, the coffee station is "BYOC" (Bring Your Own Cup).

If you’re heading our way and need your caffeine fix, please:

• Bring a reusable cup or tumbler from home.

• Grab a cup from one of the restaurants downstairs and bring it up with you.

Calling all current graduate students! Looking to level up your data storytelling skills this summer? The Division of Student Affairs is hiring a Graduate Student Intern – Data Visualization & Reporting Analyst for summer 2026! In this paid, highly flexible hybrid role ($21.39/hr, 10–12 hours/week), you’ll design interactive dashboards, translate complex datasets into meaningful insights, and have an opportunity to collaborate with student affairs leaders on data analysis projects. This internship is open to all current UMBC graduate students that have prior Tableau experience. Recent graduates cannot be considered for this role. This internship will provide a great opportunity to build portfolio-worthy solutions. Application review begins May 20.
