Another academic year in the books and in the midst of your studies we want you to come out and celebrate such a special moment!

Whether it's the end of your first year in college or the last reading day EVER! We want to share that moment with you!!!! Join us on the Quad from 1 pm- 4 pm for Free Food, Games, Raffle Prizes and Music by DJ Sole as we end the semester on a high note! 

We will have Halal and Vegetarian option! 

This is one of those you dont want to miss events and We hope to see you there!! Bring your friends, tell your professors, advisors and staff memebers that helped you therough the semester lets get the UMBC community together one last time for the semester!

Join us for lunch with fellow commuters and connect with helpful on-campus resources. There's no better way to celebrate the end of the semester, and it's complimentary with your Commuter Gold Card.

The Black Graduate Student Organization (BGSO) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is a dedicated community focused on supporting and empowering Black graduate students across all disciplines. The organization provides a platform for professional development, academic excellence, and social connection, hosting various community events and networking opportunities to foster a strong sense of belonging within the university.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, the BGSO is actively seeking new leadership through its Executive Board nominations. Interested students can explore various e-board roles designed to drive the organization's mission forward and advocate for the graduate student body.

We wanted to let you know that OGSL has run out of coffee cups for the time being. We are working on getting a restock delivered as soon as possible, but in the meantime, the coffee station is "BYOC" (Bring Your Own Cup).

If you’re heading our way and need your caffeine fix, please:

• Bring a reusable cup or tumbler from home.

• Grab a cup from one of the restaurants downstairs and bring it up with you.

We know this is a bit of a hassle, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience! We'll post another update as soon as the new cups arrive. Thanks for being patient and for keeping the sustainability vibes high in the meantime. 🐾

Thank you to all who submitted ingredients ideas, the initiative has been a huge success! Furthermore, if you would like to see more cultural ingredients from these regions, or any culture, please feel free to input them in our suggestion box below. The more inputs we get, the more we can give!

Earth Day Free Farmers Market Recap:

During our first ever Earth Day Farmer’s Market, we were able to give out over 2.5k lbs of food to almost 300 UMBC students and faculty. We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve this community!----

Data:

In the month of April, we’ve distributed nearly 13k lbs worth of food and other household essentials. This includes data from our Essential Space, Free Farmers Market on Thursdays, and our Earth day farmers market.

Calling all current graduate students! Looking to level up your data storytelling skills this summer? The Division of Student Affairs is hiring a Graduate Student Intern – Data Visualization & Reporting Analyst for summer 2026! In this paid, highly flexible hybrid role ($21.39/hr, 10–12 hours/week), you’ll design interactive dashboards, translate complex datasets into meaningful insights, and have an opportunity to collaborate with student affairs leaders on data analysis projects. This internship is open to all current UMBC graduate students that have prior Tableau experience. Recent graduates cannot be considered for this role. This internship will provide a great opportunity to build portfolio-worthy solutions. Application review begins May 20.
