Dr. Deluty's book of short poems allows readers to reflect on the many stories that are artfully told in a few words. The opening poem, "Nineteen Years Later," describes the kindness of a college counselor, and the impact that a simple act of compassion had on a young woman's life. When you read page 40, you'll smile, recognizing that the thesaurus is not extinct. An inward chuckle may also arise as you read page 73 and remember Leo Tolstoy's novel, "War and Peace."
