Changes to Retiree Drug coverage effective Jan. 1, 2019

<Tagline>Announcement applies to Retirees and their Dependents....</Tagline>

In response to the State changes announced earlier this month, UMBC created a dedicated webpage with information and resources for retirees: UMBC Retiree Prescription Plan Changes Webpage: https://hr.umbc.edu/benefits/retiree-prescription-plan-changes/

The State of Maryland’s Department of Budget &
    Management (DBM) recently
    announced a change to retiree
prescription drug coverage effective January 1, 2019. This
does not impact active employees, but will impact current retirees, their
dependents, and prospective retirees in their planning process.

“Effective January
1, 2019, State Medicare-eligible retirees will no longer receive prescription
drug coverage under the State health plan, and will need to enroll in a
Medicare Part D for prescription drug by then to ensure there is no gap in
coverage. Retirees’ dependents who have not yet reached Medicare
eligibility will see no change; they will continue to be eligible for both
prescription drug and health benefits until they reach Medicare eligibility.
Active State employees who are Medicare-eligible, but are still working, will
likewise see no change in prescription drug and health benefits.”

Below are links with
more information regarding the recent announcement. The Department of Budget & Management
will be communicating directly to all current retirees and will be posting
additional information to their site when it becomes available.

Full Announcement: http://dbm.maryland.gov/benefits/Pages/EGWP.aspx

FAQs and Reminders for PeopleSoft 9.2 and REX Finance

<Tagline>Post Upgrade Hints and Helps</Tagline>

We
are almost a week into the implementation of PeopleSoft Finance 9.2. THANK YOU ALL for your patience as the
glitches and bumps in the upgrade have been smoothed out.

Financial
Services and DoIT have created a handy FAQ guide to help users resolve some of
the access issues in both 9.2 and the REX Finance Reporting platforms. We will post these and update with new tips
    in TAP for easy
reference. To receive email updates from
the REX and 9.2 update pages in TAP, click on the Watch link. It is the eyeball icon located in the top
right corner of all TAP pages.

To expedite any issues in 9.2 or REX Finance,
please include the full navigation path and parameters (and error if one is
generated) or a screen shot attachment within the RT ticket so we can recreate
and research the problem. There are now
dedicated RT links for 9.2 and REX Finance Reports.

NOTE: We
    are still scheduling 9.2 Trainings.
Please visit the Training page on the UMBC
    portal to schedule a session
