High temperature water back in service

<Tagline>Autoclaves wil all be back in service</Tagline>

We are pleased to confirm that the planned High Temperature Hot Water (HTHW) system shutdown has been successfully completed. The shutdown involved extensive coordination across multiple departments and contractors, affecting key academic and administrative buildings throughout campus. We did encounter some expected issues, and our team worked through this past weekend and a couple of late nights this week to complete the work as quickly as possible. Following system refill and venting, the boilers were brought back online, and the system is now fully up to temperature and pressure.

Key upgrades included valve replacements, heat exchanger installations, and system-wide inspections to enhance the long-term performance and maintainability of our heating infrastructure. While the core work has been completed and the system is back in service, a few remaining items—such as pipe insulation and minor closeout tasks—will be addressed in the coming days. These follow-up activities will not impact the operation of the system.

Dehumidifiers used during the shutdown will be removed later today.

We deeply appreciate the dedication and responsiveness of all teams involved—including Central Plant, Steamfitters, HVAC, Plumbing, ESH, Siemens, Emjay, and supporting contractors. This effort also benefited greatly from the collaboration with Design & Construction Services (DCS), Environmental Safety and Health (ESH), and our Building Managers, whose coordination and communication ensured smooth transitions throughout the shutdown.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
