Christian missionaries travel to impoverished areas where they build and paint houses, move rocks, and give snacks to hungry children – but what is the ultimate purpose of this service work? What drives people to leave their comfortable homes to endure cold showers and less than six hours of sleep in a place where they are seen as foreigners? Are these young people really making a difference?
