As a member of the staff, the Library Services Technician will engage in customer service duties that support the teaching and research needs of our users.

Responsibilities: Specific tasks include assisting patrons at the shared service desk, stacks maintenance, managing the assignment of study rooms and lockers, monitoring the building for security matters, opening or closing the building as needed, and providing training and directions to library student assistants.
The candidate will perform library services efficiently, serving library users courteously, promptly, and in accordance with the Public Services Division's values of approachability, cooperation, diversity and inclusion, professionalism, and excellent quality of work.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Two years of experience directly related to the primary duties of this position: customer service, and experience working in a team environment.
Ability to work independently and exercise initiative in applying rules, procedures, and instructions.
Ability to work professionally with diverse individuals
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Demonstrated familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft or Google Suite applications (e.g. Google Docs, Gmail, and Google Calendar).
Experience using an Integrated Library System
Experience working with or serving college-age populations
Knowledge and familiarity with classification systems used in libraries
