UMBC’s Learning Resources Center (LRC) welcomes Ira Fabri, our new Assistant Director for Tutoring. Ira will supervise all hiring, training, supervising and scheduling for appointment tutoring and the Math Lab, programs which served over 1200 UMBC students in 2016-2017.
Ira joins UMBC from American University, where she has coordinated academic support programs since 2010. Ira holds an MA in International Communications, with a concentration in Global Media Studies, from AU's School of International Service. She also holds a Master's degree in English from the University of Torino, Italy. She started her career as a professor of Cinema History, at the University of Torino, and a freelance journalist, later becoming a teacher of English as a Second Language.
