There have been overwhelming complaints from the student body regarding the way finals are scheduled. Tuesday-Thursday classes have a final on a Friday night, and a 2:00pm class has an 8:00am exam.
Jennifer Smith, an outraged biology student, said, “I scheduled my classes so I wouldn’t have to be up early, but finals are making me have to be awake by 11:00 AM! It’s inhumane!”
This sentiment has been echoed across the vast majority of students, especially commuters, who want to avoid as much traffic as possible at 9:00 AM on a weekday.
One proposed solution is to offer two shorter exams during regularly scheduled class times. You know, the times that you decided would work best with your extremely busy work and social life?
This suggestion has been rejected by the administration for “destroying the sanctity of finals week.”
Another suggestion was to do away with finals entirely, which 100% of students were in favor of.
Despite the perfectly reasonable proposed solutions, the powers-that-be have chosen to keep the current schedule. For more information, go up to the 12th floor of the administration building. You’ll know it when you see it.
