In a world where the Book of Faces’ Newsfeeds are filled with the rarest Pepes and all of Daniel’s Vans, one college student fails to understand what’s so important about the modern “meme”. Memes transcend the mortal realm. They are so vital to the shaping of this universe that even I, a basic human, cannot comprehend their other worldliness. Not even the philosoraptor can begin to philosophize them.
Student Gamuel S. is one special snowflake. He believes that memes are simply pictures with text on them and constantly refers to these jokes as “internet phrases”. The only thing he seems to know are memes from a few years ago that he references in an attempt to be “hip” and “cool” but totally butchers the entire point of the meme. He makes the scumbag guy look more like a scumbowl guy.
One day he asked, “Does Rage Comic mean anything to you?” as if 2008 wasn’t filled with the forever alone guy, LOLcat, and 4chan vs Tumblr.
Besides barely understanding today’s vernacular, he thinks that people who enjoy anime are called “woobees”. He thinks that “cutting the cord” is a phrase said when one wishes to stop paying for cable. Is that even a meme? In what world would anybody want to stop watching television? What teenagers are complaining about their cable? Y u always lyYyYying??
He probably has a MySpace account with some shitty Nickelback auto-play music and Linkin Park lyrics as his about me.Let it be known that this kid eats candles. He regrets nothing.
