MSA Bake Sale: from 11am-2pm in the Commons Breezeway. Please, bring in baked goods if possible and volunteer for a table shift if you can! Sign up form:

It will be the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah, and this is the day when the pilgrims (performing Hajj) stand in worship on the mountain of 'Arafah. The fact that it falls on a Friday makes it even more special!

When Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was asked about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah, he said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.” [Narrated by Muslim].

Assalamu Alaikum

The MSA would like to announce a few special events and activities (Eid-related) that are taking place this week and next week in sha Allah! Please join us!

Our weekly activities are on schedule as usual, including Open Spaces, tomorrow (10/1/14) during free hour in the IFC!

Our Final Potluck Iftaar! --TOMORROW 
 
We have been having Potluck Iftaars in the IFC for the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah (Mondays/Thursdays). Our FINAL one will be THIS Thursday in sha Allah! Join us in the IFC around 6:45 pm and reap the benefits of these blessed days! We will pray Maghrib in congregation, and then have Iftaar. Please bring something to share, as this is strictly potluck style. Dates and water will be provided by the MSA in sha Allah!


 Sisters' Mehndi Night! --TOMORROW

Get into the Eid spirit! Join us THIS Thursday, October 2nd from 5-7PM for mehndi, food, and fun!

Mehndi will be done free of charge, but please bring your own mehndi cones. If you are able to bring extra cones, it would be much appreciated! Also, if you or anyone you know is willing to do mehndi on others, please let us know!

As mentioned above, the Final Potluck Iftaar will be taking place around 6:45pm, so we encourage you to stay for that and bring a dish to share!

Donate to Muslimat Al-Nissa!

In sha Allah the MSA is collecting Eid donations throughout this week for the children (ages range between 2-15 years old) at Muslimat Al-Nissa. There is a big blue box in the IFC, as you walk in.

You may contribute in the following ways:

  • Donate DVDs, VHSs, and XBOX games that are suitable for younger children. There will be a box in the IFC for this.
  • Donate games/toys/books that are in good condition to the box in the IFC.
  • Donate gently used coats or clothing for these children to the box in the IFC.

MSA EID LUNCHEON! 



NEXT FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10TH, 2:30-5:30PM.

Join your brothers and sisters for a potluck here at UMBC
and enjoy post Eid celebrations!!!

It will be a potluck-style picnic right outside of the IFC!!!
