 There is only one week left to apply to the Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition! The deadline is next Wednesday, on March 2.

What is the Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition (CBIC)? 

CBIC is an opportunity for UMBC graduate and undergraduate students who aspire to fulfill entrepreneurial pursuits. Participants will experience the process of planning a startup business by submitting a competitive and realistic 3-5 page business plan and qualifiers will present their idea in a final competition. 

NOTE: the CBIC requires that technology (mobile, web, etc), be a focus of your startup idea. 

Who should participate? 

Any UMBC student (full or part time, graduate or undergraduate) with a dream, of launching his or her own business and who plans on actively pursuing that dream. 

Why participate? 

The CBIC is a next level competition designed to give aspiring entrepreneurs a real-life opportunity to experience every aspect of launching a startup. The competition will pair you with business mentors from the community and will give you practice presenting your idea to a panel of experts. It will also provide "real world" experience and helpful feedback. In addition to mentorship from real world experts, the program is also designed to connect students to the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. 

Winners also get seed funding for their businesses, and support from our sponsors including:

Arts Every Day is seeking a photographer to document our upcoming open house and photography exhibit featuring the collaborative work of photographer Devin Allen and students at Windsor Hills Elementary and Middle School. This event kicks off a yearlong series of events celebrating the tenth anniversary of Arts Every Day and its commitment to helping teachers and students succeed together by integrating arts into Baltimore City’s classrooms.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled person with experience in photography to photograph the activities during the event and the people who attend such as the students, board members, staff, and the general public. Selected photographer must have their own camera for use. There will be little to no photo editing required after the event if photos are high quality and sufficient. Photos will be used for Arts Every Day marketing materials and we will credit the photographer when their image is used.

Selected videographer would record a panel discussion that will take place in a black box theater of the event which will be held in a black box theater. The programming section will be approximately 30‐45 minutes long. Selected videographer must have their own equipment to use. There will be little to no video editing required after the event. The video will be used for Arts Every Day marketing materials and we will credit the videographer when their film is used.

The International Light City Festival is coming to Baltimore for the first time ever!

The week-long LightCityU will take place between March 28 - April 3 throughout the city of Baltimore. The week will be filled with concerts, art showcases, conferences, key-note speakers, workshops and of course, lights!
