Learn about the 2023-2024 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program and other exciting Fulbright opportunities at this workshop for CAHSS faculty, presented by the Institute of International Education (IIE), which develops and implements the Fulbright program. IIE program officers will provide information on the upcoming competition cycle, that starts in February 2022, and the Catalog of Awards. The presenters will share tips for preparing strong Fulbright applications, initiating outreach to international host institutions, and doing short- and long-term planning. Time will be given for Q&A. Please add your question in the registration form. 

Brian Souders, Associate Director for Global Engagement Opportunities in the Center for Global Engagement, and UMBC’s Fulbright Scholar Liaison, will discuss support for faculty applicants. Tim Gindling, Professor of Economics and Fulbright alum, will also share his experiences.

The funding can be used as academic scholarships (up to $1,000), or as “seed funding” (up to $2,000) to launch new ventures or community based social entrepreneurship projects.

  • Describe the impact an academic scholarship will have on their future as an entrepreneur or social innovator or

The Maryland Center for History and Culture seeks an enthusiastic Educational Programming Intern to join the Department in person. This position will assist the Education Department in expanding our reach with diverse youth and adult audiences. While the intern will support overall operations, the central project throughout this internship will be the redevelopment and updating of MCHC’s traveling trunk program. MCHC’s traveling trunks are used by nearly 10,000 students per year across Maryland and the United States.
