Immediate need of a full-time experienced Art Handler / Installer based in Baltimore, MD.
Part-time positions will also be considered.

Packing / Transporting / Installing Artwork
This position will be responsible for residential and commercial installations with some museum work.

The Children’s Theater Production Company at the Gordon Center for Performing Arts at The Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC is seeking a Lighting Designer for the Spring musical. The Lighting Designer will work closely with the director to design and implement the show lighting. The ideal candidate will have a background in children’s theatre production and at least 3 years in design experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Attending 2-3 rehearsals, all tech dates, and production meetings (not all)

Designing the light plot

The Children’s Theater Production Company at the Gordon Center for Performing Arts at The Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC is seeking a Stage Manager for the Spring musical. The Stage Manager will work closely with the director to provide organizational and practical support for the production. The ideal candidate will have a background in children’s theatre production and at least 3 years stage management experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Attending all rehearsals and record blocking

The Children’s Theater Production Company at the Gordon Center for Performing Arts at The Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC is seeking a Costume Designer for the Spring musical. The Costume Designer will work closely with the director to design, create, and implement show wardrobe The ideal candidate will have a background in children’s theatre production and at least 3 years in design experience.

Collaborating with the director on concepts

Attending production meetings (not all)

The Children’s Theater Production Company at the Gordon Center for Performing Arts at The Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC is seeking a Sound Designer for the Spring musical. The Sound Designer will work closely with the director to design and implement the show sound. The ideal candidate will have a background in children’s theatre production and at least 3 years in design experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Attending production meetings (not all)

Producing audio effects

Scoring the show

This competition will take place in Commons Sports Zone at 7PM.

In conjunction with the exhibition Revolution of the Eye: Modern Art and the Birth of American Television, on display at the Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture from through December 10, the CADVC presents a lecture by Lynn Spigel.

Lynn Spigel is the Frances E. Willard Professor of Screen Cultures at the School of Communication at Northwestern University. She has written extensively on numerous topics including post-war culture and popular media. She has also edited numerous anthologies including Television After TV (Duke University Press, 2004) and Feminist TV Criticism (McGraw Hill). She is the editor of the Console-ing Passions book series from Duke University Press. Spigel was named a Guggenheim  Fellow in 2012 for a project to study the history of smart homes and digital technologies for everyday life.

Lecture begins at 4:00 p.m. in PAHB 132.

This position is charged with assisting in the production of all Gordon Center events including music, dance, film, theater, family programs and more. This position includes the complete support of staging, lighting, sound, rigging, AV needs and event specific requirements. The successful candidate will be a strong problem solver, a flexible, proactive and positive teammate who is committed to high-quality, professional presentations. This is a part-time position (15 hours/week).
