JOB SUMMARY

Manage day-to-day operations of the orchestra with presence at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore, MD, and the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD. Ensure that all concerts/events transition seamlessly from rehearsals at JMSH to Strathmore

Maryland Art Place (MAP) is seeking artists for “UNDER $500”,our upcoming winter benefit exhibition. On Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14, 2019, this two-day event will promote the sale of artwork by artists in the Maryland region.

MAP offers internships for upper level college students, graduate students and recent graduates. Fall, Spring and Summer Internships available. MAP hours: 11 am-4 pm, Tuesday-Saturday.

Interns are responsible for assisting MAP in a variety of ways, ranging from programming to administration, with opportunities for special projects depending on skills and professional interest. Intern duties include: performing research; assisting with gallery preparation and installation; photo/video documentation, coordinating events, gallery sitting, social media and community outreach.

The Manager of Gallery Learning is responsible for Identifying, training, scheduling and evaluating gallery teachers, specifically the volunteer docents(approximately 70), part-time educators(8) and museum associate(1). S/he identifies program and training needs and employs best practices in adult learning to support these educators in their gallery teaching. S/he reports to the Director of Education.

The Howard County Arts Council, a multi-purpose non-profit arts agency, seeks a self-directed, outgoing individual for a part-time, entry level Development position in a small, fast-paced office environment. The successful candidate will report to the Development Manager and will be responsible for managing member appreciation, solicitation, and retention efforts, community outreach, and event hospitality, and will support office management and provide administrative support to the Development Manager.
