We are excited to launch a workshop, training, and dialogue request form for i3b requests! You can fill out the form for any of your needs and we will follow up and connect from there. This form can be used to make requests for engagements for student, staff and faculty audiences. 


Our IDEAList peer educators do requests for student audiences. The IDEAList program aims to provide peer-led interactive workshops rooted in dialogue and social justice. Our i3b Professional Staff do requests for staff and faculty audiences. 


There is a 2 week advance notice time that we ask for so we can best plan for your request and with our schedules. If you have any follow up questions, please feel free to reach out to i3b@umbc.edu. We appreciate you using this form to help us centralize requests and best track interest in our workshops, training, and dialogues!

Want to go on a scavenger hunt? If you do, or just want to have fun with cool people, join for a hunt around UMBC. Not only is a scavenger hunt a fun puzzle; but it’s a cool way to learn more about our campus. The first couple players to solve the riddles and find the items on the list wins a prize. So, please come join us for some graduate student fun.

The hunt will begin at The Commons (starting time coming soon). If it is a nice day we can have begin outside. 

Boundaries: The hunt will be limited to just the Main Buildings on campus from the Fine Arts to the library. It won’t extend past the physics building.

Queer Leadership and Navigating Leadership in the New Normal
About the Presenter:
Simone Loysen (They/He) is a Junior English Major on the Communication and Technology Track at UMBC. Outside of UMBC, they play ice hockey and love to crochet! They believe that leadership is the act of guiding someone towards a bright future. Whether through official leadership (being in SGA, LPF, president of a club, etc.) or unofficial leadership (helping a friend, teaching a sibling, etc.), they believe that the act of leading directly impacts other people's lives for the better. Their goals as a Leadership Peer Facilitator (LPF) are to gain experience leading workshops and become able to clearly articulate leadership topics to others. Outside of being an LPF, they are a part of many clubs including the LGBTQ+ Student Union and UMBC Crafters and they also play for the UMBC Ice Hockey Team!

About the Leadershops:

Queer Leadership: This session will empower the queer community at UMBC towards becoming strong leaders. Attendees will explore the importance of authentic leadership, and learn how to use identity to strengthen leadership skills.

Navigating Leadership in the New Normal: We have seen many unforeseen challenges, and its impact to the world as we knew it. This session will address leadership in the dreaded Zoom call as well as leadership for students that aren't as engaged as they may have been in the past.

About the Presenter:
Omar Sabra (He/Him/His) is a Freshman Political Science Major at UMBC. Outside of UMBC, Omar is a car guy who recently got a job in selling cars. Omar believes that leadership is what gets things going. He believes that leadership could be two people, it could be a hundred, but whatever it is, it has to be effective and get the job done. His goals as a Leadership Peer Facilitator (LPF) are to spread the truth about leadership and to knock any misconceptions people have about it. Outside of being an LPF, Omar is a First Year Ambassador in the Student Government Association (SGA).
