HBO has announced the launch of the HBOAccess Writing Fellowship which will begin accepting applications on March 4, 2015. The program will give emerging writers from diverse backgrounds an opportunity to attend a week of master classes held at the HBO campus in Santa Monica, California focusing on character and story development, pitching ideas and projects, securing an agent, and networking. Each participant will then enter into an 8-month writing phase where he/she will be paired with an HBO development executive and guided through the script development process. At the conclusion of the program, HBO will hold a reception and staged reading for industry professionals where the writers will be introduced to the entertainment industry.

“With the success of our first year of the HBOAccess Directing fellowship, we wanted to expand our focus to other areas of the creative process,” said Kelly Edwards, Vice President, HBO Talent Development. “We are looking for emerging writers with a deep passion for storytelling and a unique voice who will want to bring that talent to HBO and Cinemax. In turn, they will be nurtured by some of the best creative executives and showrunners in the business. HBO has a long legacy of supporting writers and we are excited we can begin those relationships at this early stage.”

Take the Mandatory Fee Review Survey 2015!

<Tagline>PAW this post and SHARE it with your friends!</Tagline>

From the Student Fee Advisory Board:

In addition to tuition, every student at UMBC pays fees that support student life on campus. These fees are broken down into six categories: Athletics, Technology, The Commons, Transportation, Auxiliary Facilities, and Student Activities.

Every year, UMBC engages students in a process to review each of these fees and assess how to increase and allocate their funding. Student input is a valuable component of the fee review process and the SGA Student Fee Advisory Board makes a formal recommendation to approve or amend each fee on behalf of students.

Below is a link to the 2015 Mandatory Fee Review Survey. It is an online form that explains the details of proposed fee increases and collects your input on how you feel about each fee and its related expenditures. The fee advisory board uses this data to directly advocate for fees and expenditures that students support.

sga.umbc.edu/sfab

It it immensely important that you take and share this survey so the largest possible percentage of students' direct feedback can be represented by the Board and its recommendations. So paw this post and share it on facebook!

Look for bars that contain zero grams of trans fat

Protein and energy bars are also simple to make on your own, are a good way to control exactly what ingredients are being used and in what quantities, and are a great option for students on a budget. The following recipes contain no added sugars, are naturally sweetened from dates, are high in fiber, contain healthy fats, and can easily be made gluten free or vegan. For recipes click on link
