    <div class="html-content">Student leaders are an integral part of The Shriver Center's Service-Learning Program.  In partnership with UMBC, community partner Walden Circle supports youth at their Community Center.  There is still a vacancy for a leadership position Tuesday AND Thursday, 3-6:45 pm (due to the previous intern graduating last May).<br><div><br></div><div>There is a small stipend for the position.  To be considered, candidates:</div><div><br></div><div><ol><li>Must be available Tuesdays AND Thursdays, 3-6:45 pm</li><li>Be willing to transport other UMBC students in a 12-passenger Shriver Center van (and have a valid Driver's License)</li><li>Support recruitment efforts to engage other UMBC students in this service site.  <br></li><li>Attend Service-Learning Intern Meetings every other Friday, 12-1pm <br></li></ol></div><div>Those interested should submit a resume ASAP to Service-Learning Program Coordinator Eloise Grose either via email at <a href="mailto:elgrose1@umbc.edu">elgrose1@umbc.edu</a> or in person at The Shriver Center, 1st floor of the Public Policy Building (just past the elevators).  We seek to fill this position immediately.  If you have questions, email Eloise or call at (410) 455-2493.  <br></div><div><br></div></div>

    <div class="html-content">The Shriver Center's Service-Learning Program is excited to connect a number of community partners (particularly non-profits and schools) with UMBC students who eager to learn about the community through sustained service and connect that knowledge with areas of study.  <div><br></div><div>Over the summer, Service-Learning Staff met with a number of new sites, and is building more opportunities with others, particularly through leadership positions who offer transportation.  These sites include Lakeland Elementary Middle School, The Choice Program <em>(M, Tues, &amp; Wed)</em>, and Walden Circle on Tues &amp; Thurs.  College Gardens' afterschool program needs volunteers each day, Monday-Thursday.<br><div><br></div><div>See us at Involvement Fest on Wed. 9/4, 12-3pm or call The Shriver Center to set an appointment, (410) 455-2493.  </div><div><br></div><div>Please see the attached Fall 2013 Service Chart, as well as our 096 Syllabus for Community Service &amp; Learning.  </div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div></div>

    knowledge and experience working with children with autism! Children Achieving Maximum Potential (CHAMP) is 
    seeking therapists to work one-on-one with children with autism in their
     homes.  Perfect schedule for college students! <u>Hours start at 2:00pm</u>.  You may work as little as 2 hours at a time.  </p><p>Learn
     about applying the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis while 
    working as part of a team that teaches social skills, communication, 
    activities of daily living and leisure skills. We provide training and a

<Title>Fall Engineering Co-op with Emerson Electric Co.</Title>

    <div class="html-content">Are you still looking for a co-op or internship position for the Fall?<br><br>Kop-Flex currently has paid full-time or part-time co-op positions for<br>Mechanical Engineering students.  Kop-Flex is located south of Baltimore<br>near BWI airport, and offers students a great opportunity to gain<br>experience in mechanical design and manufacturing.<br><br>Kop-Flex Inc., part of a business unit of Emerson Electric Co., is a<br>manufacturer of flexible couplings for power transmission applications.<br><br>Kop-Flex hires many co-op students for full-time positions after<br>graduation.<br><br>Duties will include: assisting Product Engineers in the design of<br>mechanical couplings and u-joints used in industrial, power transmission<br>applications; performing rudimentary stress analysis using in-house<br>computer programs; calculating coupling mass elastic data; applying<br>engineering knowledge to modify coupling designs to meet customer<br>specifications; other computer-related duties as assigned. In the film, interns create apps, generate sales leads and even play a fierce match of <a title="International Quidditch Association" href="http://www.internationalquidditch.org/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">quidditch</a>.</p><p>Not a very realistic picture of the average internship, of course.
