Date/Time:  12/17/18, 5:40p.m.

Incident Description:  A student observed anti-Semitic symbols drawn in yellow highlighter over bulletin board postings.

 Date/Time:  12/4/18, 1 pm

 Incident Description:  A student observed an anti-Semitic username on the monitor in True Grit that displays songs being played by the app Rockbot.

Incident:             Sexual Assault

Location:            Smoking Shelter on Park Road

Date/time:          October 28, 2018 at 2:00 a.m.

On November 7, 2018 a female student reported to police that on October 28, 2018 at approximately 2:00 am, she was at the smoking shelter when she was approached by a male requesting a cigarette.  When she told him no, the male then reached into her front pants pocket searching for her cigarettes and groped her buttocks.  The male was described as approximately 6'2", heavy build, light skin black male, mid 20's, with short hair and glasses.

Incident:             Armed robbery (handgun)

Location:            Back Road near basketball courts

Date/time:          October 10, 2018 at 9:50 p.m.

On October 10, 2018 at 9:50 pm a male student was robbed at gunpoint by two high school acquaintances while attempting to sell a pair of sneakers.

Location:            Walkway between Library and Center Road

Date/time:          October 10, 2018 at 8:15 p.m.

On October 10, 2018 at approximately 8:15 pm, a female student was walking from the Library to Center Road when she bumped into an unknown male walking toward the Library who patted her groin area with an open palm, The male was described as light-skinned black or latino, 6'0 tall, wearing green camouflaged type pants, a baseball cap and a backpack.

Incident:             Suspicious Activity

Location:            Tunnel Between Commons Garage and Stadium Complex

Date/time:          October 3rd, 2018 12:38 pm

On October 3rd, 2018 at 12:38 pm a female student came to campus by bus where she met a non-student described as a 21 year old black male. He is also described as 5'4 or 5'5 in height with a stocky build. They got off the bus and while walking through the tunnel between Commons Garage and the Stadium Complex he made a non-verbal proposition for a sexual act by motioning toward his groin and unzipping his fly. The female student declined and he walked away.

Location:            Stairway In Between Library Pond and Meyerhoff Bldg

Date/time:          September 26th at 7 p.m.

On September 26, 2018 at approximately 7 pm a female student survivor was running up the stairs between the Library Pond and the Meyerhoff Building when she was inappropriately touched on her buttocks by an unknown black male. He was described as being 18 - 20 years old with a stocky build. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and tan shorts.

Incident:             Armed robbery (handgun)

Location:            Back Road near basketball courts

Date/time:          September 24th at 9p.m.

On September 24th at approximately 10p.m. the student victim reported that an hour earlier he had agreed to meet with the suspect for a pre-determined transaction to sell shoes.  During this transaction the suspect produced a handgun, threatened the victim and stole his property.  The suspect is described as a black male, early 20’s, wearing a light gray hoodie, dark pants, and bright blue tennis shoes.  He was seen leaving the scene in a silver Honda.

What:   Emergency Exercise

When:  Monday, August 13th between 10a.m. and 1p.m.

Where: Albin O. Kuhn Library

Details:

On Monday, August 13^th the UMBC Police, Department of Environmental Safety and Health along with the Baltimore County Fire Department will be conducting an Emergency Exercise (fire rescue) at the Albin O. Kuhn library between the hours of 10a.m. and 1p.m.   Please expect to see a heavy first responder and emergency vehicle presence in the area.  The exercise will include a mandatory evacuation of the building.  Library staff and patrons along with the pond side offices will be allowed back into the building as quickly as possible. Library patrons will be restricted to the RLC and the lobby area for the duration of the exercise.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but these exercises are critical in helping all of us prepare for critical incidents.  The decision was made to conduct the drill during normal business hours to increase the life-like nature of the exercise and test our ability to evacuate the building in real time.  Thank you.

Incident:             Armed robbery (knife)

Location:            Front of Potomac Hall

Date/time:          July 9th at 10:00p.m.

On July 9th at approximately 10:00p.m. the unaffiliated victim was delivering food to an individual in Potomac Hall.  When he exited his vehicle he observed a large group of males exiting a silver colored Honda Civic and a light colored minivan.  The group approached the victim and demanded he hand over the food he was carrying.  One of the males in the group displayed a box cutter type of knife.  The victim handed over the food and the group fled the area in the two vehicles.  The victim was not injured.  He returned to his place of business off Campus and the police were called.
