UMBC will be hosting a College Commencement and High School Commencements at the RAC on May 22nd and June 8th.  Please take note of the dates/times and expect heavy traffic both entering and exiting Campus.  Please exercise care when driving as many of these visitors are unfamiliar with our traffic patterns.  Thank you.

Tuesday, May 22nd  Howard Community College at 2p.m.  Expect heavy traffic in and around the RAC from 1p.m. to 2p.m. and then from 4p.m. to 5p.m.

Tuesday, May 29th, High School Graduation at 10a.m., expect heavy traffic between 8:00a.m. and 10:00a.m. entering campus and then from Noon to 1p.m. exiting campus.

Friday, June 8th  we are hosting 3 High School Graduations, expect heavy traffic all day.

Crime Alerts are issued by the UMBC Police to alert the campus community of incidents on Campus.

Incidents:             Multiple Hate Crimes/Acts of Intolerance

The UMBC Police are investigating several reports of Hate Crimes/Acts of Intolerance that have occurred since the beginning of the semester.  This continues a trend that started this summer as we observed numerous swastikas being drawn/etched onto/into various surfaces and locations to include restrooms, classrooms, and residential buildings.  We are asking for the community to call us at 410-455-5555 if you have any information about any of these incidents or if you observe anyone drawing a swastika on any surface.  The display of such an offensive and hateful symbol is contrary to the values of our community and defacing school property is a crime.  Please visit the Diversity and Inclusion website at http://diversity.umbc.edu/ for additional information and resources.

In accordance with the federal law, identified as the “Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998,” by this notice, the UMBC Police is disclosing the availability of the UMBC Annual Campus Security Report (Clery Report) to all enrolled students, University employees, prospective students, and prospective employees. The Clery Report can be found at this link.     

The report contains crime statistics about certain specified crimes/incidents that have been reported to the UMBC Police Department and/or Campus Security Authorities over the past three years that have occurred either on campus, in off campus buildings, in property owned or controlled by the University, or on public property adjacent to the campus.

The report also contains policies and practices pertaining to campus security, crime reporting, alcohol and drugs, victims’ assistance programs, student discipline, campus resources, campus crime alerts, emergency notification systems, crime prevention, access to campus facilities/properties, missing students, emergency response and evacuation procedures, annual fire safety reports, fire log, as well as personal safety tips. The report encourages the reporting of all crime occurrences. The report describes how and to whom to report crimes.
