The department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Health Administration and Policy, along with the Center for Social Science Scholarship, will be hosting Dr. Utpal Sandesara, from the University of Pennsylvania, a clinician and anthropologist who studies the uses of reproductive technology and the use of sex-selection in India. He will be giving the Health and Inequality Lecture on “Sex-Selective Abortion in India: Victims, Villains and Other Ways of Seeing the World” on Thursday at 4:00 in the Library Gallery (see below and attached).
ABOUT THE SOCIAL SCIENCES FORUM
Founded in 1999, the Social Sciences Forum brings distinguished social scientists to campus each year to present cutting-edge research on topics of vital interest to the social science community at UMBC and beyond. Lectures are free and open to the public, lasting approximately one hour, followed by Q&A and a reception.
