The UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law Justice Michael L. Douglas Pre-Law Fellowship Program offers undergraduate students one week of simulated law school classes in substantive areas of law, legal writing and legal analysis, and LSAT preparation. 

During this free event, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., you'll have the chance to connect with law school representatives who can provide invaluable insights into your legal education journey.

There will also be a lineup of experts to answer your questions starting at 4 p.m. so you can be better prepared when the virtual doors open at 5 p.m. 

Ask about how to pay for law school, how to discuss identity and experience in your application, the format of the LSAT, and anything else you may be curious about. 

This is a great opportunity to gain insight into how law schools evaluate applicants and discover ways to strengthen your own law school application. 

Jonathan will also be available to answer any questions you have about the admissions process.

UMBC students are invited to attend the 18th Annual Students of Color Outreach Day (SOCOD) at Georgetown Law on Saturday, November 9, 2024. 

Each year Georgetown’s Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and partnering student organizations invite prospective applicants to visit the Law Center to learn more about the experience of diverse Georgetown Law students, receive important information about the law school application process, and learn more about Georgetown’s community.

• This event provides a unique opportunity for students and alumni considering law school to meet face-to-face with law school admissions representatives from across the country. 
• Over 100 law schools typically attend this event. 
• Suggested attire for this event is business casual.
• Open to all students in the DMV

First, there will be a panel discussion featuring admissions staff from all the law schools on 1) navigating law school application components; 2) why law in the DMV; and 3) advice for underclassmen. 

Then, each school will have a separate drop-in Zoom room where you can ask all of your burning questions to the admissions staff.

This presentation will explore how state and federal policies have contributed to the crisis of mass incarceration, and how social justice reforms, such as expanded access to criminal record expungement, are empowering individuals affected by the criminal justice system. By examining the impact of criminal records on economic and social opportunities, we will discuss how expungement is opening doors to employment, housing, and education for those seeking a fresh start.

This presentation is being held in preparation for the UMBC Expungement Clinic on October 17.
