    <a href="https://sph.umich.edu/fphlp/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><strong>University of Michigan Future Public Health Leaders Program (Michigan FPHLP)</strong></a> is currently accepting applications for Summer 2020! The <a href="https://sph.umich.edu/fphlp/application/index.html" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><strong>Michigan FPHLP 2020 Application</strong></a> is open until <u>January 31, 2020</u>.<br><br><strong>Michigan FPHLP</strong> is a 10-week summer residential program for underrepresented college students and recent graduates who are looking for a meaningful introduction to public health. It is a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of Minority Health and Health Equity (OMHHE) to address the shortage of diversity in the public health workforce. No public health experience is required. We are thrilled to receive applications from students in all majors! </div>

    <div>Grounded in Georgetown University’s tradition of academic excellence and interdisciplinary studies, our two-year Master of Science in Epidemiology program provides advanced training in the fundamental principles and practice of epidemiology. A unique feature of the Master's in Epidemiology program is the crosscutting theme of Health Disparities, motivated by the university’s commitment to social justice and community engagement, and aims to train students as public health researchers, practitioners, and leaders in recognition, investigation, and elimination of local, regional, national, and global health disparities.<br><br><em>Concentration Areas</em><br>The Master of Science in Epidemiology Program offers three concentration areas:<br>·         Cancer Epidemiology<br>·         Infectious Disease Epidemiology<br>·         Social and Behavioral Epidemiology<br><br>The M.S. in Epidemiology program is a 4-semester program requiring each student to complete 34 credit hours.  Didactic training, practicums, and applied “hands on” research will culminate in a written thesis. These 34 credit hours are comprised of: 22 credits of core courses, and at least 12 credits in concentration-specific courses, inclusive of a thesis.</div>

<Title>Nebraska Summer Research Program 2018</Title>
<Tagline>10-week PAID residential program</Tagline>

    <div>The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Research, Evaluation, and Analysis for Community Health Lab and the Minority Health Disparities Initiative (MHDI) administer the Minority Health Disparities REU, which is an interdisciplinary program aimed at conducting cutting edge social and behavioral research into understanding and reducing health disparities and in diversifying minority health researchers.</div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>This project takes place under support of a Summer REU grant from the National Science Foundation for research in social network analysis (SNA) and minority health. As part of that program, participating students will learn basic approaches to network science/SNA in order to employ these skills where possible in their summer research projects. SNA instruction will take place during a 2-week intensive class led by Kirk Dombrowski (Professor of Sociology, UNL), scheduled for the first two weeks of the program. Training will be used to enrich the students experience in their partner laboratories during the subsequent 8 weeks. The primary student outcome of this part of the summer research experience will be an introductory facility in social network terminology, visualization, and exploration.</div>

    <div>Participating students work with mentors in a variety of social and behavioral science disciplines to support health research. All projects are on-going, but the work specific to the summer research program will be completed within the 10-week timeframe. At the conclusion of the program, participants will present their research at the Summer Research Symposium.</div>
