Hey, you! Yeah you. That broke a** college student, the low-maintenance person looking for more money to spend on those textbooks (or let’s be real, some boh). If you’re looking for somewhere to live, you should read this. (I’m looking at you, tiny house fans).
So, it’s a 1973 Cal 29. A boat. A sailboat, to be precise. It’s got sleeping space for three really close friends, two pretty good friends, or one reasonable person. But let’s be real, if you’re still reading this, you’re probably not reasonable.
Now, if this all sounds crazy, you should know that we’ve lived aboard as two friends for 6+ years. We liked it so much that we’re buying a bigger boat… otherwise, we wouldn’t be selling. We can tell you everything you need to know about the logistics of #boatlife.
The vessel has a refrigerator, toaster oven, grill, and an electric hotplate. So basically a full kitchen. (just ignore the fact that there’s no running water… the hose outside and the lounge in the marina work great. (but if ya need it, it’s a $100 fix away from a working sink)) It’s been re-wired so that you can charge your cellphone or whatever gadgets or doodads you might have.
We’re listing the vessel for $6,000, but are willing to negotiate with interested parties. After purchasing the boat where it currently sits, you could pay only $440/month to live (plus electric, but it’s a 29 foot boat… there’s not much to sap power). With that $440, you get a place to tie up your house, a gated parking lot, access to three different pools (one of which is year round!), two gyms, and a super cool community built in (if you like friends, that is. If you don’t, the current slip is away from other liveaboards so you don’t have to socialize if you don’t want to). And it’s all in Federal Hill! (But remember, it’s a boat… it moves wherever you want to take it).
