Residence Halls and Apartments close Wednesday, May 20st @ 8 pm.

In order to support an environment conducive to study and to stagger check out times across the week, we ask students to move-out of their rooms within 24 hours after their last final or no later than 8 p.m. on May 20th. All buildings close and residents must be completely moved out of their rooms or apartments by 8 PM on Wednesday, May 20th. 

Staff will provide students with a closing check list. Most students do a great job of preparing their rooms for check out. Since students won't be able to enter their old residence hall or apartment after closing, please check drawers, closets, cabinets, and wardrobes carefully before leaving. Cleaning crews enter buildings immediately following closing and items left behind are discarded by housekeeping staff.

Remember students should schedule an appointment with the RA at least 48 hours before move out. At this appointment, the RA inspects room damages, takes room key and resident ID. Failure to make and keep a scheduled check out appointment is one of the more expensive check out charges ($50.00). Key and ID charges add up, too. Luckily, these are easy charges to avoid as long as students follow the check out instructions.

The RSA Community Action Team is a group of UMBC residential students consisting of 2-3 representatives from each community that work to smoothly transition CABs from a relatively inactive summer period to a highly active fall semester.CAT members primarily establish the Community Action Boards in each building, as well as help out with Residential Life and RSA activities during Welcome Week. 

CAT members will:

- attend Community Action Team trainings before the start of the fall semester

- working with the RSA Executive Board to get CABs active

- co-host the initial CAB Social with the CAB advisor

- act as CAB representative until formal CAB elections can take place

- coordinating initial CAB meetings

- supporting in CAB Presidential election preparation during the term.

 Enigma Artists Society is partnering with Art Week and the End Human Trafficking Campaign for the Fair Trade Coffee House tonight from 7-9 at the Sports Zone.  Come and hear musicians, singers and spoken word poets.  You can enjoy the performances with Fair Trade Certified coffee, tea and cookies provided by End Human Trafficking Campaign.  Come support your fellow UMBC students and have a wonderful time.  Attached is a schedule of the events for Art Week.
